Are their expectations realistic, or do they have romantic fantasies of, oh, let's say, pirates, or the like....?

Do excellent manners and exquisite charm count for nothing??? Does one's stylish looks make one seem less manly??? Does a tantrum or two, or five....or more...make a man seem less manly????

Have a job
Take a bath regularly
Be honest - ALL the time

Those are my top three. LOL

Excellent manners and exquisite charm count a lot IF they are backed up by honesty, monogomous faithfulness to the one you say you love. Stylish looks CAN sometimes make a man appear less manly - even though that's not always the case. A tantrum - we all deserve to have one of those every now and then.

Yes, Pirates are a fun fantasy - but not Capn' Jack pirates - the pirates like WILL are the fantasy.

I can only say for myself that my man is manly in my eyes. He loves his family with all hes got. He would give his own life to save others. He is a loving and caring and he can also have tantrums. He has also at times had to knock a few people down to keep me safe. So for me a manly man is one that can be himself with the confidence that hes good enough.

It takes a real manly man to have many tantrums, in manly fashion of course. Women just love pirate fantasies as long as they are roguishly good looking, dapple brown hair manly pirates, who drink real man's rum.

In my opinion, the whole external thing is a plus thus its their personality and how they treat women behind close doors and out in the open. The ideal man must be charming with at least a little taste in style, the whole manly thing is unattractive, you don't have to prove you are manly, we already know your a man. Thus being able to defend yourself is a bonus. In short, being yourself not putting a mask on when you know it is not you!!!!

Now where I come from a manly man can be hangin with his buddies, chop off his leg with a chainsaw, throw it in a cooler and ask for another beer Or get his nipple bitten off by a beaver(Jeff Foxworthy). They still wouldn't cry. They might laugh at the sight of a grown man pitchin a hissy fit. But they totally respect pirates..arrgh

That they desire their men to have manly expectations is incidental.
What is the first and principal thing these women do?
What needs does they serve by having these expectations of manly qualities in men?

Jack B., - it is simplicity:
They want to 'do the nasty'... That is their nature.
And how do they begin wanting to 'do the nasty'?
Do they seek out anything to 'do the nasty' with?

No, Jack B., - they begin by thinking about a man with "manly qualities"; a man that makes them want to 'do the nasty'.

Brave Jack B., MANLY man!,....
You will let me know when the Yamsters stop having tantrums, won't you?

Women want to be appreciated. It generally doesn't matter if the man is a truck driver, a scientist or a dog groomer. What women find attractive is not how manly a man appears, but how he makes her feel like a woman. Any man can do this, if he knows what he's doing.

I think it all depend on the person, I am very old fashion in some ways, I do believe that the man should be the head of the household, but also respect the woman enough to listen to her thoughts and ask her opinion. etc. I look for respect but somebody who can stand up for whats right, but also gentle.

I guess since I am a widow, and plan on remaining unmarried, I just expect to be treated fairly and compassionately, the same as I would try to treat them. I would prefer to be treated this way by someone who wanted nothing but to help with my horses, but I guess that is a little self-serving. It would however be a great position for a horseless rider. How about you, Jack? Exactly what do you know about horses? (((Jack))) Did you miss me?

A manly man should be competent in everything he does.
There is nothing sadder or more offputting than an wusy male.
