Yes, especially well with light colored hair and some sun!
You can also try a blow dryer to speed up the process.

When it is sunny out apply lemon juice onto your hair. Stay out in the sun for an hour or so and then wash it out. Remember to condition because the lemon juice will dry out your hair. The lemon juice will naturally lighten your hair and give you blonde streaks.

Don’t use it straight without diluting it. Dilute one tablespoon of lemon juice in a gallon of water and use it daily as a rinse. Use it this way when you know you will get sun exposure and it will lighten your hair, but be aware of how it is affecting your hairs condition.

Used sparingly may be fine in healthy, non chemically treated hair. Also think about this, if you use it too often, you will have bleached hair with roots growing in, now what do you do?

Yeah! Of course it does. My hair has natural honey highlights and when I put lemon juice on them they become even lighter. This is how I do it: Before I wash my hair I put lemon juice on my highlights. I leave it for an hour and then wash my hair, then rinse it with chamomile tea(sometimes). The combination of the two really makes hair lighter! Here's where u can find those nice home-made stuff for hair(I just found it, like a day ago):

It's got fantastic stuff!
Enjoy!

Yes it really works, but it takes time and still has a chance of damaging or drying your hair. Make sure to use a nice shampoo and conditioner.

When I've done it, I actually use real lemons, juice them, put it in a spray bottle and add water. About 1 part water to 3 parts lemon juice.

Good luck!

If you have dirty blonde hair, you can squeeze lemon juice into some water in a squirt bottle. Saturate your hair, comb it through, then sit in the sun. It will bring out your blonde highlights. But it also makes your hair very dry and brittle. So be sure and deep condition, too. Have fun!

lemon juice does work but it works best on lighter hair and it dries your hair out ALOT either use alot of conditioner when you take showers or instead of using lemon juice you can put olive oil in you hair and sit out in the sun for like an hour or so

it only helps if you're blonde. Then go out in the sun or blow dry it and the heat reacts to the acid in the lemon juice and lightens it. Supposedly. I'm a brunette though so I don't know from experience.

Yes. It put a orangy-reddish tint to my naturally dark brown hair when I was younger, so it works best on blonde or light brown hair. Cranberry juice will bring out the red tones in darker hair.

I tried it once while on vacation in Florida, and it did little to my dark brown hair. But my dad has lighter brown and he tried it, and his hair was A LOT lighter afterwards.

So I think it works mostly on lighter hair, but with darker hair it's harder.

it does help, especially if you go out in the sun while the lemon juice is wet, for at least several minutes.

It will create something like streaks - it won't bleach your hair evenly all over.
