Why are people so upset about "illegal" immigration, but they don't care that only 1% of imported food..?

Only 1% of imported food is checked, yet some people are saying terrorist are going to attack us from the border. If terrorists wanted to strike us good, they would poison our food or put bombs in our childrens toys, seeing as so many defective toys get by quality control. The only reason people rant against "illegal" immigrants is because they have nothing to do and are themselves probably living off welfare.

Ever seen an illegal alien take someone else's job because they "do it cheaper and better?" No you haven't, haven't you? Not until it affects you. There's a reason Cesar Chavez was against illegal immigration and why many other Americans are as well. They bring down wages, and that's bad for everyone. Your assumptions of terrorists putting bombs in toys, poisoning the food, etc fails as well. They would have done it already if it were so easy...besides China does that well enough with their crappy imported food and toys....oh and I work in an architectural firm..so :P

Some may well be concerned about both, the latter just shouldn't get any play in the Immigration section (food doesn't immigrate, it's imported).

There are actually two borders, and terrorists could enter from either one. Poison doesn't seem to have been the terrorist's style, so far. Not sudden and dramatic enough.

We have many many many more issues with the illegals invading our country than the fact that some may be terrorists. We "rant" against them because they don't respect our laws. They take up valuable resources that should go to our OWN indigent...not those of other countries. They are also putting our hospitals out of business and their sense of entitlement is absolutely infuriating. They really bring nothing good to this country. They may help some unscrupulous businesses to turn a bigger profit, but they break the back of both the middle class and the lower class by using up resources that don't belong to them and taking unskilled jobs that should go to Americans. They've brought down wages by working illegally. They are parasites. They may be industrious for their own welfare, but just like any other parasite, they eventually destroy their host with their TAKE TAKE TAKE.

I'm glad illegals are being so vocal. The legal citizens are finally taking notice about what is going on and who these people truly are....no matter how their proponents try to paint them. America is waking up.

Let's be smart and use our heads. Illegal immigration has destroyed many many American's livelihood, taken away the jobs, taken away college kids' jobs which takes away the opportunity for college for some as well as the sart of their careers after college when they can't get a second job to make ends meet in the hard beginning part.

Many American's are losing their homes right now in this mortgage collapse because of loss of availability of jobs and a second nightime job opportunity.

BUT...it is not any illegal aliens fault. I know there are reports of crimes but for the most part they are friendly, good hard working people trying to make it. I believe if they are so hard working they should fix their own country. IT IS THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT'S FAULT FOR GIVING AWAY THE AMERICAN DREAM TO THOSE WHO IT DOES NOT BELONG TO....and taking it away from the American citizens who have earned a chance into the dream.

Don't know who you've been talking to but alot of us who are concerned about illegal immigration are equally concerned about the lack of inspections of our foods and other goods. This "globalization" has many of the same common factors. Dual rules, non-enforcement of laws already on the books, inadequate amount of people to do the jobs to insure this, corporate greed, cheap, cheap, cheap in all manners inspite of the citizens, safety and everything else.

It's all tied together. NAFTA, free trade, cheap labor, blind eyes everywhere.......

People aren't ranting because of a lack of things to do. People have sat back and shut up and now are fed-up. Fed up having jobs outsourced for cheap labor....fed up with uncontrolled illegal immigration for cheap labor, fed up with cheap goods, rotten food and neighborhoods that are no longer looking like America. Fed up with one set of standards and laws and rules for us while everyone else does what they darn please with no reprocussions. Whether it be here or in the corrupt business world and their quest for cheap at any cost.

It's not a problem only Americans are dealing with either. Every single successful nation on this globe is dealing with the same issues. Mass influx of non-assimilating immigrants and illegal immigrants destroying the carefully balanced infrastructure they built and just watching their countries fall apart right before their eyes.

Illegal immigrants are a part of something of a much grander plan. A few pieces in a major jig saw puzzle only a handful of elites are privy to.

Because it isn't illegal to only check 1 % of the food that comes into this nation. It IS illegal to come into this nation without going through the proper channels.

Actually I have a very good job and I am also very concerned with imported anything that is not checked. This still has nothing to do with illegal aliens entering the country and marching in our streets demanding rights. The only right they have is the right not to be killed. They should still be deported, every last one of them.

for your information... all of those illegal women aliens that cross, jump, climb, or swim across the border and have kids over here in the US are using up benefits for our very own US citizen babies....

if you go to a school in most of southern California, they are full of kids from Latin America, and if they are kids of illegal aliens, then they have taken up a space that was for our kids... one of these days the rest of Western United States are not going to know any English... it's so easy for them to just come over and still speak Spanish...
