My husband and I are buying a house and so it's THAT time to plan budgeting! What are some ideas for dinners that cost less than $10 for the entire meal? I am interested in anything that is NOT duck, lamb, ribs, veal or deer. I will choose my best answer based on which idea I don't already have...or which one is most original based on my above criteria. Also, any type of cuisine is acceptable as long as it doesn't have the above meats!

Spaghetti is fairly inexpensive, even if you make your own sauce.

Anything made with ground beef. Such as hamburger helper, tacos, stuffed peppers, Chili is even inexpensive..

I make a lot of mexican food since it's cheap, filling, and tasty. You can do anything with flour tortillas, cheese, and meat.. Add sour cream and veggies.. Make enchiladas..

You can also look for chicken breast on sale. You can do ANYTHING with a boneless chicken breast. I pound mine, and bread, deep fry, saute, grill, EVERYTHING.

Hope I helped you a bit.

ps. canned baked beans, hot dogs, potatos, and corn are always cheap foods.

What about good old fashioned vegetable soup.

beef or bacon bones, fat removed.
3 litres of water
1 1/2 cups soup mix ( red lentils, pearl barley, split peas etc)
3 cups chopped vegetables e.g. carrots, parsnip, celery etc
1 large tin of tomatoes diced.
salt and pepper.

Put bones, water and soup mix in a large pot. Bring to the boil and simmer for 2 to 3 hours until meat is falling off the bones. Remove bones, add vegetables and tomatoes. Cook for a further 30-45 minutes. Season.

I find I have enough to do several meals, I freeze what is left over. This is really Nice served with crusty bread.

Pasta also I find to be a cheap meal. I just dress it up using different sauces. Bolognese, pesto (Basil and garlic sauce) or carbonara (ham and mushroom sauce.)

It will depend on the fruit or plant associated with a comparison. In the event that you compare a farrenheit to a carrot, the carrot is the better of the two nutritional. But since you compare an avocado to the carrot, then this avocado is better. Equally the apple and avocado, are fruits.
