you leave it in! soak your ear in sea salt water (which sould taste like tears) for 10-15 minutes then rinse it, and wash it twice a day with dial soap. always leave the ring in for atleast a month.

I wouldn't use rubbing alcohol (it can sting) or peroxide (some people are allergic and it can bleach your hair or clothes if it drips).

If you got your ear pierced at a mall shop like Claire's or Piercing Pagoda, they give you a solution that contains 11-13% Benzalkonium Chloride, which is an antiseptic (a substance that inhibits the growth and reproduction of disease-causing microorganisms). Some tattoo/piercing shops also offer a solution.

If you didn't get anything to clean your piercing, then I suggest going to the store and buying Bandaid Hurt Free Antiseptic Wash (Approximately $4-6 at drugstores, Walmart, Target, etc). It contains Benzalkonium Chloride (13%). It is available as a foam (which is nice for squirting on sore piercings!) and also as a liquid. The liquid also has lidocaine, which is a topical anesthetic (numbing agent).

Cartilege piercings should be left in for EIGHT TO TWELVE WEEKS (regular lobe piercings are six weeks). Do NOT take it out to clean it. Soak a cotton ball (or use a cotton swab) in the solution and apply liberally to the front and back of your piercing. Move your earring forward and backward to help the solution get inside the hole, then rotate the stud halfway. Do this three times a day for eight weeks and at least once a day after that. After eight-twelve weeks, you can remove the stud but you will need to put in another earring right away. Make sure to keep an earring in for at least a year so that the hole does not close.

Keep hair, hair spray, perfumes, soaps, shampoo, makeup, etc from newly pierced ears. Clean your piercing(s) thoroughly after exercising, shampooking, swimming, etc.

Did you get it done by a profesional or did u do it urself?? if u got it done by a professional then they prob should have given u a sulotion to put on ur ears. if they did then take a q-tip and dip it in the sulotion and clean around you earings (leave em in) and then twist em a couple times and repeat that 3 times a day or so. But If they didnt give u a sulotion i would suggest taking alchol swabs and cleaning ur piercing with that (leave ur earings in). and about the salt water, i have never heard of doing that so i wouldn't do that unles somebody told u that it works and then u could clean them with that like u would the sulotion. And also in case u didn't know this don't ur earings until u have had them in for 6 weeks then after that always have earings in for about 6 months to a yr. I hope this was a help to you!!

My ears are pierced 3 times, each side. Both of my daughters' are pierced, as well (my youngest just this February past), so I have a bit of experience.Leave the earring in.Wash your hands. Clean and rotate it (a full 360 degrees times 2). I didn't use antiseptic on mine, but good old Dove soap. Rinse well and blot around under the earring with a clean cloth. If you don't clean it well, it will get sore and full of pus. Keep it dry. Do this for 6 weeks.

Well I got my ears pierced last year and here's what you should do. Three times a day clean the hole out (with the earing still in) with alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or if they gave you something at the store you can use that. Leave the earings in for 6 weeks from when you got your ears pierced. After 6 weeks you can change them, but make sure you are wearing a pair at all times (so the hole doesn't close up or get infected) and also make sure that they are posts and not hoops or dangles. Also be sure to avoid heavy earings. You can now clean out your ears only once a day. After 6 months from the day of piercing you can wear posts, dangles, hoops and heavy earings and you can also go for about 2 days with no earings in. Still clean your ears about once a month. After 1 year you can keep earings out for 1 week or more. You no longer have to clean them. I hope this helps!

I know that you are not supposed to take any piercing out for at least 6 weeks. I have my ears pierced and just got my nose pierced and the piercer suggested I use saline solutions (contact solution) for a cleanser because it will help it heal faster hope this helps and good luck!!

I did this very simple routine. Every night, for two weeks, beofre you go to bed, wipe the piercing with rubbing alcohol. After two weeks you can switch earrings.(make sure to clean them first.)

Don't take it out. I wouldn't do the salt water thing, either. Didn't they give you some cleanser? I'd just swab it thoroughly with that twice a day, and that's good enough.
