I am tired of boring old mashed potatoes but i made potato skins last night for dinner so now i have to do something with the insides. We are having meatloaf, what can i do to spice up plain mashed potatoes?

You can add butter, sour cream, crumbled bacon, and chives.
You can add garlic and parmesan cheese.
That's what I do..

Put the mashed potatoes on top of the meatloaf(when it's 10 min. from done) with a bit of butter and sprinkle paprika on them.

Place the pan back in the oven until the potatoes brown a little. Slice your meatloaf as you normally would.

Make regular mashed potato and add chives and garlic to them.

Make potato pancakes add a beaten egg to the potato, season well and fry in a bit of butter. Flipping once when browned.

Make cream of potato soup. Chop a bit of onion, celery and saute in saucepan till transparent. Add potato and stir together to heat. Slowly add milk to the consistency you like. Top with cheese or melt in to soup.

This recipie is great. Really easy. It includes chees, but you don't have to add it. It is really simple and tastes great!


EASY MASHED POTATOES

Approximately 5 med. peeled, cubed potatoes
1 (8 oz.) jar Cheez Whiz cheese spread

Cook potatoes in boiling water until tender; drain and mash. Stir cheese spread into hot potatoes. Spoon into 1-quart casserole. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven 15-18 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
VARIATION: Add 1/4 cup chopped green onion and 1/4 cup sour cream with cheese spread.

Mini New Potato Bites
Prep Time: 20 min
Total Time: 1 hr 20 min
Makes: 15 servings, 2 topped potato halves each

1-1/2 lb. new potatoes (about 15 potatoes)
4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
2 Tbsp. BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
2 Tbsp. KRAFT 100% Grated Parmesan Cheese
4 slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon, cooked, crumbled
2 Tbsp. snipped fresh chives

PLACE potatoes in large saucepan; add enough water to cover. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook 15 min. or until potatoes are tender.
MEANWHILE, mix cream cheese, sour cream and Parmesan cheese; cover. Refrigerate until ready to use.
DRAIN potatoes. Cool slightly. Cut potatoes in half; cut small piece from bottom of each potato half so potato lies flat. Place on serving platter. Top each potato half with 1 tsp. of the cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle with bacon and chives.

Add a package of Hidden Valley Ranch to the potatoes to make them ranch mashed potatoes.

Sometimes I make mashed potatoes but instead of using butter and milk, I will use a bit of sourcream, then top them with some finely chopped chives before serving.

all the above ideas are really cool and I recommend the garlic thing and parm thing...but the best.

Wash your potatoes very very clean, cut out any bad parts.
save the peelings and cut them up.

Fry these in butter until crispy....then add to the potatoes....awessimo!

cut back the anion to the little products advert some butter and positioned all of them into the separate pan, and positioned on a fire . turn them till the anion gets brown. upload it into the mashed potatoes and a few mozzarella cheese. relish your meal!
