The nature of those people in Antarctica studying the changes evident?
Or
What is happening to the Antarctic environment that has been perpetuated by humans?

If the former, they are trying to find out what it is that we are doing to the global teeter totter that is tipping the Antarctic balance towards a finite end.

If the latter, I believe our effect on the Antarctic environment is one of lesser evils. Our effect on the Arctic environs are more immediate based on the size of the ozone hole in that vicinity.
