There is a material realm and a spiritual realm. It is not difficult to believe in things of the material realm because they are visible or can be made visible through science. In the invisible realm, the forgiveness of sins is unseen. Invisible things are more difficult to believe.
A Christian believes in things of the spiritual realm in that if he is baptized into Christ's death, he is dead to the Law and dead to sin and if he is baptized into Christ's resurrection, he is one with Christ and made acceptable to God and is not able to sin because he is "dead." There is much more benefit in the spiritual realm because it is eternal, not temporary as the material realm is.
There are laws governing the material realm which science has discovered. I believe Darwin was a scientist who discovered new physical laws, the survival of the fittest (the law of the jungle) and natural selection which governs the animals. But I believe that humans are governed by the law of love. Without love, humans do not develop properly. Humans are part of the material realm and love is in short supply as is seen by all the wars, famines, illnesses and the general human condition.
God is love and has enough love for everyone which can only be accessed through faith because God is a spirit. Faith in Christ (being one with him) is the way to God. I don't know of anyone who doesn't want love.

You know evolution isn't against the Bible right? And he's not one, he's three in one. Science isn't as reliable as you say it is. Here's how science works. Some guy who calls himself a scientist (He may or may not be one) gets an idea. He then hypothesizes and other scientists help him test it. If it holds up to the tests, it becomes a theory. If not, they change the hypothesis and test again until it does pass the tests. The theory stands by itself for sometime until it is proven false. If something is a theory for a very long period of time it becomes a scientific fact. (Global Warming is still in the theory stage but don't ask Al Gore that) The system isn't perfect but it's the best humans can offer.
Here's an example of how Science has been proven false. There was this ancient fish that was extinct. They found many fossils of it but never any live ones. After a while it became a scientific fact. Then they found a whole bunch of them off the coast of Africa. They can't be found anywhere else and scientists never looked there. Just because science hasn't proven God exists doesn't mean it's false. It means they haven't been looking in the right place.

You can't really call yourself a Christian if you don't believe in God!! Please read this and take into consideration...Your parents are only concerned about your spiritual walk. Ultimately, it's your decision on what you want to believe, but at least consider this:
The Price for Rejecting God
READ | Hebrews 10:26-31
Many people believe they'll go to heaven because they tried to live a good life. Here's the simple truth: Those who receive Jesus Christ's gift of salvation will spend eternity with God. And those who refuse the gift will not. The price for rejecting God is eternal separation from Him.
When a person becomes a believer, he recognizes that he's not good enough to deserve anything from God. Man's sinful nature is characterized by rebellion against the Lord. It alienates him from his Creator. No matter how hard a person tries, he cannot avoid sinning again. That's because he still has the old sin nature. But at the moment of salvation, Christ forgives all his sins and declares him no longer guilty. Then God gives him a brand-new nature.
If someone rejects the truth that salvation comes only through the atoning death of Jesus Christ, he has nowhere else to turn. His good works aren't enough to get him into heaven, a place of sinless perfection. And his wrongdoing remains unforgiven. The penalty for sin is death. If Christ's sacrifice is rejected, the guilty party must pay the price himself.
These words aren't meant to scare you into receiving salvation. They're a warning about the future if you reject the Lord. God has set before you a choice between eternal life and death. Deuteronomy 30:19-20 says, "Choose life in order that you may live . . . by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him."

Sweet young lady, of course I'm not mad, good people of any spiritual path aren't going to be mad at you for speaking your feelings and thoughts!
I used to be a Christian, but I felt the same way you do. it just didn't make any sense to me. It was totally illogical, not to mention sexist and patriarchal. I left the church many years ago and eventually I followed my heart did some reading and soul searching and I found my way.
Science makes sense and doesn't say it knows stuff that it doesn't. It researches and presents provable explanations. Reality is so so much easier to live with and walk with in your life, not having to swallow a load of nonsense that you don't really believe.
You will find your own way if you follow your heart and mind. See what works for you, that you are comfortable with, and don't apologize for making your own decision. That is the beginning of wisdom.
There are many paths out there other than Christianity. I am a pagan and an agnostic. These work well for me. Find what works for you and good luck!
Bright Blessings,

you are using the word Christian as a title just like Mr or Mrs. To be a christian is to be Christ like. There are even those that attend church and say they are christians that will one day stand before the Lord and He will say depart from me for I knew you not. I use to be like you I loved science and it had an answer for everything. UNTIL God reached down and saved me. There are still some unanswed questions I have but I look forward to the day that I can ask God why, when , what, who and how. Let me make a small suggestion. If you dont believe in God and it sounds like you and your family attend church. See if there is another church around that you feel comfortable in and that teaches the word of God. Dont give up on God. He hasn't given up on you. He knows the hairs on your head.

If you don't believe in God, you are not a christian, but you are not alone.
Because there are many, many others who claim to be christian with their lips, but don't really believe in their hearts. These are not christians, even though they claim they are.
When a sinner dies, it is not like the world has you believe, that death is like going to sleep.
Because if you die without being born again, your soul is taken and cast into the fires of hell where it will remain until the day of judgement. Then you will have to stand before he who created you and explain to him why you chose to not believe and choose eternal suffering instead.
And don't believe the old lie that you will have many friends there. It is a place of utter darkness where the torment is forever. And the thing that will torment you the most is knowing that you could have avoided this fate if you only had believed.

Your parents being Christian has nothing to do with you, You are a Christian if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. If you do not believe in God, you cannot believe in His Son so you are not a Christian.
God is not a human being. God is a Supreme Being beyond our scope of knowledge. The perfectly good explainations from science as you call them can be constrewed to either support or debunk the theories of the Creationist position. You cannot side with that position because you do not believe in God. Good thing God believes in you, for your sake

No. I don't agree. You may call yourself a Christian but you can not be one if you don't believe in God. Jesus Christ died for my sins and yours so that we could have fellowship with the Father. Until you realize how much God truly loves you and ask Jesus into you heart and become what is called born again you will never understand anything of the Christian Life. God calls all to Himself but not all will answer. Free Will in play. If you want to learn more start reading your Bible. Start in the new testament. I pray that God will Bless these Words and help those who are not Christians to seek the truth and be willing to answer His call. The Christian life is not easy but it is the only way to salvation and to feel God's peace and joy in this life.

You all ready did change that, you confessed with your mouth (from your heart) that you do not believe in God.
Christian means (Christ like/follower of Christ) since Jesus was man but was also "God" your statement means you do not believe in Him, therefore you cannot be a follower of Christs, therefore YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN.
One is not born into Christianity by being born of Christian parents, YOU must make that choice your self and join in the death of Christ by baptism.
By the way God the Father is not "People" He is a spiritual being a power we as humans can never understand.

Thanks goodness God doesn't make sense. If a God had the same comprehension level as me.. we would be in a world of hurt right now.
Just think of it that way =)
And your parents don't 'make' you a Christian bud. Christ says that he is the way, the truth, and the life. No-one gets to the father but by him. So unless you accepted him as your lord and Savior, and admitted you sins and asked for forgiveness, then God clearly states that you aren't a Christian =(.
That doesn't mean you can't be... but what scares me is that you actually said that its 'not your fault' and that your parents are the only reason for your Christianity. Are you ashamed of the gospel?
