As long as the child does not share a bed with the parents. They could share a hotel room at any age really. Most hotels will offer rooms with two beds.

If you and your wife wants more privacy then it should not be called a "family vacation". To save money, have a "family day" that way, no hotel is needed, start early, end late. By the end of the day, everyone will have had fun and will be exhausted.

if you feel its a problem try to get a room that is a joint room so both the parents and the child(ren) have their space. if not dont worry about it and share a room theres nothing wrong with being together with family..you live in the same house...a hotel is just puts you guy even closer (less space)

Well as far as I am concerned If I am on vacation with my kids,( My son is married with one child,) if they don't mind us sharing the same room, I sure don't. what's wrong with sharing with your family?
It's not like you"re about to have sex in front of each other. is it? or can you not restrain your self?
If you or your wife is so uncomfortable then don't go on holiday until your child is a teenager and then give him his own room, cost you twice as much but that's YOUR problem.

as long as you trust them i suggest a joining room at the age of the youngest 16. but they are never too old to share a room with you but for the sake of privacy for a teen i say 16

I've never had that problem just because I have 5 older siblings so we usually did 3/3/2 (my 'rents)... but now I have 3 younger siblings so my 3 year old sister stays with them. But for my oldest sister it was when she was 13 (and her twin siblings turned 12)

Our children stayed with us until they were married. We had some good times watching late movies, playing cards, etc.
