Unicode, what ever you discribed had little or no resemblance to most of our experiances of Church: maybe you should visit one where there is life.

Christians are okay. Satanists can be a bit grumpy. Muslims just don't seem to be able to get to grips with air travel.

I have actually met real genuine christians, and I had thought they were all grasping, smarmy hippocrites who would steal your wallet if they found you lying injured at the side of the road.
It was a rainy night in the middle of nowhere, I had pulled over to answer the call, and my car, slowly, gently slipped sideways into the ditch.
Well these people came by fresh from church (Friday Night) and were genuinly concerned that I had had an accident and was injured.
I assured them that I was not, and although I could have been an escaped lunatic they took me to my destination, right up to the front door.
Restored my faith in humanity, which, of course, didnt last.

Christians are ok, once you get over their delusional belief that one day a dead guy is going to rise up and save them from their mundane lives and validate years of pious living, trying desperately to be better than anyone else while secretly flagellating themselves for their unholy thoughts about the women in the Tampax ad. Just kidding, Christians are great...Really. Rah, Rah, Rah. And to answer your prevous question, George Bush. He really furthers the Christian cause by trying to reinstate the marriage of Church and State, while simultaniously doing his best to subdue the barbarian foreiners by offering them a new life in Christ, (naturally this involves killing them but that is not his fault.)
I think we should sometimes remember that the Christian empire began as a small but fanatical cult called the Gnostics, and that even today, while they have multiplied, they retain many of their insane and frankly quite scarrry beliefs and are best avoided. Ok, I'll describe a scenario and you guys tell me where it is taking place.

A man dressed in black robes wanders, trance-like around a gothic building chanting strange words and releasing strange smelling smoke from a silver chalace, Another man in high ceromony reads from a black book and periodically speaks strange phrases, that mysteriously the tight knit group of followers all know the ritualistic responces to. After awhile of this a silver cup is produced and declared to be the blood of christ, a whafer specially prepared by the female virgins of the cult is also produced and declared to be the body of Christ. The followers all then eat and drink the wafer and from the cup, while a statue of a pained and bleeding man looks woefully down from a cross above the alter.

Thats right, a church.

his name was mike. he was an expiditor at my job a few years ago. in fact he died at work on one of my off days. he always greated everyone with a smile. was honest. and was a good man. you could see that he was truely blessed with contentment and a good carature. i know he is in Gods hands right now. true christians have flaws, but their beleifs and how they try to approch life make them stand out.

I have known some Jesuits, and they have spent their life, not preaching and braying about the Bible, but working for social justice in very dangerous conditions.

Every Christian that I have had the misfortune to meet speaks in a brain washed and somewhat deluded manner about a book (the bible) of meer fantasy. They preach their misconceived and pathetic beliefs in a manner that is narrow minded and based on lies and inaccuracies stating doom and gloom for those who dare not believe. Well, I dare not believe and feel that the only good Christian is one who has seen the light and rejected their deluded beliefs and made the most of their lives for the here and now!
