I wouldn't. When she turns around, she might pop you a good one in the head.

Yes, Yes do it!! It will be so cool, going against 'mothers law' to defy the gravity of my living life. Just think, you can actually be so cool as to HIDE this large cage, with a noisy ferret playing with all his toys. Your mom would come up, and say " what is that noise!", and you can say "I made the band mom! I play the toy bell!" Wow, she'll be so proud of you!!!! And then the ferret odor, whew I must plug my noise just thinking about it..you can just burn some incense, or buy a glade glow lite and put it on 4! Your room will be so intoxicating, but it'll smell like summer's breeze. Then.. well here comes the sad part. Your room is so dark 80% of the day, you say hi to it 6 times a day, it never gets floor time, and it's dying of upper respitory disease.
The real question then becomes, what will you do with a dead ferret, and all it's supplies there after?
So come on. Do it. I bet your LIFE on it that'll it'll be an experience you'll never forget.
Ferret's are exotics, not Walmartics.

No. Dont. There are many problems with this idea. I must say, though, dont think of yourself here. Think of the ferret. If you buy a ferret and your mom makes you get rid of it, where is it going to go? To a homeless shelter? Another homeless ferret to add to the million. You can't guess about buying a ferret. Its not right and its not fair. You have to be sure you can take care of it, and that its right for you. A ferret is a living animal and can't be treated like a toy. They are expensive. My two cost me about 200 every month in food, bedding, and litter. I constantly buy them toys for about 200 a month. They have ALOT of toys. I have to get them $80 shots every six months. They have regular vet visits at $100 each. Can you afford this? Im not saying that they are bad expensive pets. I got into this knowing what I was doing. I love my ferrets to death, and I would do anything for them. I probably will never get another pet other then more ferrets. Another problem you would have is the smell. They have a slight smell to them. That is easily taken care of with daily cleaning of thier cage. Do you have time for that too?

No, very bad idea.
What will you do if your mom learns you have a ferret? You might end up having to give it to a shelter :(. They need VERY large cages, and the cage can smell quite strongly. Plus, you'd have to play with the ferret often--you can't just hide it forever. They can live up to 9 years--the oldest was 14--so yes, your mom WOULD find out, and it's likely that she'd make you get rid of it.
And if the ferret were sick, you wouldn't be able to take it to the vet.
Also, there's the question of buying supplies and food without your mom finding out.
It sounds like you haven't done that much research on ferrets, anyway, if you're posting in the Rodents section. They *eat* rodents, and are actually related to weasels, badgers, and wolverines.

Since you are an adult and you let your mom live with you, you should be able to do what you want. It is your house and you have a job, so disregard anybody who lives with you . What? You're not an adult? It's your mom's house?! You don't have a job?!! Well, I say do what makes you happy since the world revolves around you. If you didn't do enough research to find out about the specific needs of these special animals then the next best thing is to rely on the advice of a whole bunch of strangers who will obviously take your side over your mom, who is apparently trying to torture you. Good Luck.

No stupie......
You can't hide a ferret, (unless you plan on moving out), and once you adopt an animal, you are responsible for a safe place for it to live!!! If your mom doesn't want one in her house, she has that right. If you get one anyway, she finds out, then where does the ferret have to go live? You just gonna turn it loose in the back yard?
Use your head! Don't get an animal you can't properly care for!

No! Your disobeying your mom and plus taking care of ferrets can be hard work sometimes. Maybe after a while she might let you have one but if not you can always find another pet that she would let you have.

No. First off, she'll find out, and the loss of trust will be, well, bad, and not that fun for you.
And if you think you can hide it, you are wrooong. Ferrets smell, are loud, smell, and make big messes. Did I mention they smell?
Find out why your mother doesn't want you to get a ferret. If it's the responsability, sneaking wont help your case. If its the animal, maybe make a compromise... Rabbits or cavvys are quieter, cleaner, and easy to litter box train. Rats and mice are smaller, and easier to take care of. And fish... well, fish are fish. Small, simple, hard to kill. Talk to your parents. Don't sneak that ferret!

No, for many reasons. Ferrets are prone to several serious conditions. If you want to give a ferret a good life wait until you are responsible enough to care for one without fear of your family. Ferrets need medical care just like other pets. It sounds like you're too young to care for one properly.

I think they are great pets, but they need so much attention, they are a lot of work. If you do decide to get one, make sure it is decented, and possibly neutered. But getting a ferret that is decented wont stink nearly as bad!

ferrets are a pain in the butt, and when they get loose they're even worse. my advice, don't go behind your mom's back for the ferret. wait a while and ask again, but don't pester her.
