I met my husband online!
Though, I will say there are plenty of 'freaks and creeps'. The internet isn't just a haven for weirdos, it's a great place for people to meet that have more varied interests from the norm.
It's great for those that are frustrated with the regular dating scene. You can have tons of 'dates' so to speak at the same time and screen out people a lot faster than you would meeting them in real life. Also, it's a lot easier to find someone with similar interests. I mean really, if there's someting you really love, you can search by that interest. How long would it take you to find someone with similar interests in real life?
I thought it was great. I met a lot of people online that I went on to meet and hang out with in 'real life.' Just keep your guard up as a lot of people do pretend to be something they aren't online.

I wouldnt really recommend it, just because i've heard that there can be creeps on there. But it just depends. I think some people have actually found someone good on there. If you feel like youre having trouble meeting people in person, then i would maybe give it a try, but i would be very careful! Just because you never know who's out there! I think if i was having trouble meeting guys, then i would join, but only as a last resort! But it doesnt hurt to try it as long as you research and look around at the dating sites.

If you are over 18, yes, online dating is great. It has worked for millions of people worldwide and its popularity continues to balloon because it simply works. I for one met the person I'm with online and weve been going sxtrong for the past 2 years. Online dating is much cheaper then regular dating because with normal dates you have no idea sometimes what your date is like, and after spending $15-$40 on an evening together he or she may be the biggest jerk in the world. With online dating you still have to fork out the doe on dates but at least you know that the person you're going with may actually be a potential lover. Your conserns about online dating are also true, there are many wierd people online that you would NEVER want to meet in person, but personally these people are seldom found on legitimate dating sites. Again, if you are over 18 I would highly recommend it. It worked for me and it can definitely work for you too.

I met one of my ex boyfriends over the internet. We've been together for 3 years. You can meet nice people (my example is a good proof i think) but on the other hand, you can run over a lot of freaks.... so be careful .... if you decide doing it, meet in public places (eventually even bring a friend) and don't go in any private places until you really get to know and trust the person
An ex teacher from highschool met a guy like this and she married him, so it's possible.

Way too many who cannot get a date or who are just on a fishing expedition, trying to see what is out there for THEM instead of how to have a great relationship.
I was a part of it and it was surprisingly easy to get a date. But I stay away now because I feel the better catches are the more likely to get a date without going online.
Oh, one more thing, it is horrible to have someone date you who doesn't even trust you. It's like, then why date??? I mean, I think the natural order of things is to trust someone before dating the person.

That's where I met my old man, but you have to be very careful when you actually go meet people. We talked a couple of months before we really met in person, and I made sure a friend was with me......
I met a couple of other people before him, and they were total loosers, but they were harmless.
You just have to "pick" carefully, and never be alone for that meeting! Other than that, I'm all for it! Been happy for a couple of years now!
Good Luck!

I guess its possible to find someone, my mom is online dating, but she has the guy thinking she looks like something that she doesn't. My friend is dating and they have been for several years, he has actually come from Australia to see her. But I think the predators are to severe, that it wouldn't be worth my life.

Of course there are lots of creeps, but you can meet nice people. Just never give out any personal information. Keep it light and fun at first.
