its on a 1999 dodge ram van 1500 v8 5.9L. i am not 100% sure but i think water went into the muffler. the tank on the right side boils faster than water on a stove.the temp on the dashboard normaly runs at 210 but now it goes all the way. what can cause this?

i just got new info from my dad. the water from the radiator flows into the coolant tank. this happens when you run it at a high speed of about 50 or greater. everything ran normaly before

okay more details. we went under the truck. the water pump is cold and so are the hoses at the bottom of the radiator. the hoses going from the radiator to the motor are extremely hot, untouchable. im guesing its the pump not circulating right?

youv'e got a stuck thermostat, the impeller broken off the water pump, if the belt was recently changed it could be on wrong driving water pump backwards, or the radiator is plugged. try thermostat first.

my truck was doing the same thing turns out the thermostat was stuck it wouldnt send coolant to the engine it was a simple fix just remove 2 bolts and there it is it costs about $12 try that before spending all the money for something that wont even fix it
