Just wondering if anyone knows why men don't like to talk about the reasons for a breakup, even if they did the dumping? Maybe they don't want to hurt feelings (but it's worse to just not really know what happened). Seems to me like I would always express what was going on with me if my feelings changed, but they seem to just go awol.

Oh, I'd like to add another question: do people find that you are more likely to get back together with an ex if the girl did the dumping than the other way?

Its just very werid after the break up, someone usually is heart and has bad feelings.

And for your second question, I would consider getting back together with a girl i dumped, but if she broke up with me, i probably wouldn't try unless she expressed an interest.

I know what you mean, it's always driven me crazy - even if I'm the one doing the breaking up, I want to analyse what went wrong, what I (or they) could have done differently, etc. But guys seem to just shut off. They don't want to invest any more time or energy in something that is clearly 'over'. I think, too, that you're right, they don't want to hurt anybody's feelings, they don't like feeling uncomfortable themselves or making someone feel uncomfortable, especially if there's nothing to be gained from it. That book, 'He's Just Not That Into You' (or whatever it was called) was very enlightening, you might want to give it a read.

Simple, guy's cannot reconcile three things,
1. He is in the same room as you
2. You once liked him, but now you don't.
3. You once wanted to have sex with him, but now you don't.
and these three things, when combined, make a man very uncomfortable. Number 2 is optional.

Generally, when the person who does the breaking up has a change of heart, there is a chance, otherwise there is not. Gender doesn't have much to do with it.

We don't like talking after the breakup, because that's time we could be spending talking to other women and getting back in the game.

Once it's over, it's over.
