I was just wondering what would happen if anemia was not treated and I have had the symptoms for at least 6 months and have not gone to the doctor.

These are my symptoms:
Rapid heart rate
cold skin
Trouble breathing
Chest/Abdominal pain
Dizziness
Headaches

I know I should go see a doctor, so please don't tell me to go! I have an appointment to go tomorrow, but I was just wondering what would happen if it was not treated.... thanks

I know its because of me not eating veggies! I don't eat anything with iron in it. I am a very picky eater.

It is not uncommon for women to have anemia and this is due to blood loss in your menses. The symptoms you mention are precisely the ones you get with anemia. Treating the anemia depends on how severe it is and how long you've had it. From what you explain it seems that you've had it for quite some time, so your body has probably adapted to it, however it definitely needs to be treated. On most cases it can be treated with an iron supplement that your doctor will give you. Cases of severe anemia may require blood transfusion. Anyway, your doctor needs to do a workup to look for the exact cause and thus give the best treatment.

Anemia is dangerous in older people or those with known heart conditions. In young people it is mostly NON life-threatening, however it should be treated to get rid of the symptoms and prevent some complications in the future.

Hope it helps.
