I don't think you could. In the first place, cows sleep laying down so you can't sneak up on them while they are sleeping, in the second place a cow has eyes on the sides of their head, so like a horse they can see almost 360 degrees. Sneaking up on one would be asking for a swift kick and they can and will send you flying! If you run up to a cow, it will just run away. Cows can lay on their sides for short periods of time (they do it when they have their calves) and will not die; however, if a cow lays on her side with her back downhill, she won't be able to get up. A cow (or horse too for that matter) must remain in an upright position much of the time or they get pneumonia and die.

Tip a cow over on to their back and they drown in their own body fluid. Not a pretty site. If happen by accident in my family back in the 50's when they were trying to get the cow into the back of a cattle truck. She spooked and ended up on her back in a ditch.

cow tipping is for sissies. Bear slapping is a real man's sport. lol

and yes, you can tip a cow. Its cruel and pisses off the animal, so you best hope to not tip a bull instead. even then the heifers can kick the #%&@ out of you if you get em mad.

I've never ridden a cow, but I would think they'd appreciate some spare change.
