Kissing cousins is a saying for a reason. Birth defect are a life long reason not too. Although it is becoming common place to have these kinds of realtionships and it is proving that birth defects are not so common with cousins.
Dont rush just for passion.

1. If you were raised around someone, you usually don't feel attracted to them. If you had limited contact, there's no reason to not feel attraction.
2. There's been an observation recently of genetic attraction that tips the balance slightly in favor of those who resemble you, regardless of relation.
3. Genetic problems aren't caused by relation per se, unless there's a particular problem in the background. Genetic problems are caused by a limited gene pool. You see this in societies that encourage repeated marriage among cousins and in societies that are isolated for whatever reasons. European royalty was isolated by class. The Amish are isolated by culture, and have more than their share of such problems (there's at least one clinic that specializes in them). Occasional and random close pairings don't usually pose this risk.

When I was younger [6-14] I had a huge crush on my cousin he was considered a 5th his grandfather is my grandpa's uncle. And in most European (I'm Italian) cultures it's perfectly normal for cousins to marry.

in the west it isnt allowed. it's like liking your brother/sister.
in the east, the best marriage is that which is between cousins . they know each other , grow up together, have no secrets to hide.
see what your community says about such an attachment before you get further into it.

It's kind of weird..... but then again, I have this CUTE nephew whom I really like because he's sweet and good looking, but of course I'd never act on it... he's just a nice guy, period, I'd never be with someone I'm related to....

I see this question on here at least once a week, so I guess it's more common than I thought. Doesn't make it right though. Just don't act on it and you'll be fine.

Certain cultures such as the USA frown on cousin marriage.
It is a cultural taboo but is not a sin scripturally.

It could get even more weird if you try to pursue it. Emotions like that can make lots of trouble for you so it's best if you curb it and keep it to yourself.
