I had a fiance in the military. I just found out he is married to someone else but has been getting seperation pay for being away from his wife its been a little over 7 years and the amount is very high. Isn't this illegal I have been with him for 10 years and she lives in another state.

He can get into trouble for having an extra marital affair while in the military. Does not matter if they, in their minds, feel the marriage is over. In the eyes of the law they are still married. What he is doing is conduct unbecoming a soldier (or officer, if that applies).

He's not collecting separation pay illegally because they are living apart. The military may have some issues with his involvement with you, but only if someone else begins to make waves.

No, if he's legally married then he can get whatever pay comes along with being away from where his wife is/home. It sounds like he is manipulating the system, to always be away, but that's not necessarily illegal.

I'm not too familiar with military rules but I have a friend who is in the army branch..or navy...lol..anyhoos he once mentioned that they are penalized for breaking wedding vows. In other words yes that sounds like a big no no! Not only tampering with the military but the US gov as well.

Yikes...

best wishes
