Her "anchor baby" couldn't keep her here forever. I know it's just one of millions, but at least it gives me hope that our government isn't a total joke. Hey, it's only one, but it's a start.

Somebody claimed that people are "celebrating dividing a child from her mother".
No one made the mother abandon her child. The decision to come here illegally was her decision and hers alone, and one that SHE has to live with. Her decision to defy our laws was her decision and hers alone.
Just as her decision to break other laws such as theft of social security #s was hers and hers alone. If she had landed in prison (as she most certainly could have), that also would have been as a result of her actions.
The consequences of her actions are because of the decisions she made. Hers and hers alone.

Every arrest and deportation of an illegal alien is a victory, especially "high profile" ones such as this.
Most Americans are "overcome with awe" that a criminal such as this is allowed to use a church as a sanctuary, flaunting our laws for a year. Obviously you aren't.
You also state there are "more important things".
The approximate 12 million illegal aliens is one of the single MOST important issues facing our nation today. And I am sure you as a "college student" are aware of this.
As another poster said, we (as a nation) have ALWAYS pitched in to make a better world. We are one of the most giving and caring nations on earth.
Your statement that illegal immigrants are "too busy working and surviving to be on the internet, I say, BS...anybody with a library card has free access to computers and the internet.
There are numerous posters on here that claim to be illegal aliens, many of which are on "your side", are you claiming they are lying? I can name about 5 off the top of my head, but there are many more.

AMEN! It definitely is a start in the right direction. There is an old saying that if you chop off the head, the snake will die. Maybe without a "spokesperson" or "martyr" (Professional Victim) like this one, some of the wind will be taken out of the sails of the pro-illegal camp.

Yes it is great that she got deported. But America still has a LONG way to go.
Got to go after all 20 million!
Got to have secure borders!
Got to have tougher immigration laws!
Got to go after employers, landlords and illegals!
Got to make sure that once illegals get deported, they do not RE-ENTER the US of A.

Yes, it is fantastic news! And, for those who claim to feel sorry for the child - Elvira could have chosen to take him with her, but it was HER choice to leave him behind. She has ulterior motives for this and will continue to use her child for her own selfish purposes.

I feel sorry for the boy, but yes justice has been served (for now.)
I fear this isn't the end of the story however. She left the kid here for a reason folks, and it isn't the sacrificing maternal love.
Its a ploy to find a expedited way back in.

Yes, it is wonderful news. And it shows you what kind of mother she really is to leave her child behind. That kid should have went with her....now they both would be in Mexico. One down and about another 30 million to go.
