I suppose it can but it was so little that I doubt it.
It is more likely thatyou were just really really tired. A good long sleep was what your body was telling you it needed.

I usually stay up until at least 11:00 pm. After a really bad molar extraction, I took a prescribed 800 mg. Ibuprofen at noon, and one 4 hrs. later, as recommended by the surgeon. I had to go to bed by 8:30 pm because I couldn't stay awake. It took me a half hour to muster the will to get up off the couch and get ready for bed because I was so sleepy. I couldn't even brush my teeth or get into PJ's. I slept all night and woke up at 10:00 am the next day. I have such bad TMJ that I had thought I'd be in terrible pain after the extraction. I didn't feel a thing once the Ibuprofen kicked in, nor did I have anymore than a single little twinge of pain during the rest of the recovery.

Be careful with Ibuprofen and lithium. Ibuprofen can elevate lithium levels to toxicity. The Lithium / Iboprofen issue is pretty serious and many people do not know about it.
It can kill you. I can also put out in sleep for 12 hours, granted, you will feel the best you've felt perhaps forever, it can cause very dangerous blood clots when the two are mixed. Research it and talk to your doctor. Most- MOST - doctors know about this link and will not advise taking both at the same time.

We'll I just took one last night and this morning about 7 this morning because I had cramps and it put right back to sleep. So when I went to woman's room I fought it off so I can go on with my day. Because if I had got back in the bed I would have falling back to sleep. In don't think that ibuprofen suspose to put you sleep it don't matter what the dosage is or the MG. it suspose to help the pain go away. And with me my pain is still there after I have too king it not to long ago.

It will make some people sleep more than others. But if you only take one, it's probably O.K. I think when you take four (the equivalent of a 800 mg Motrin) it would be more likely to make you sleepy. But ask your pharmacist first.

(((((Rae))))) Yes, it can make you drowsy. ALL artificial pain relievers have a depressant effect on the nervous system, which can reslut in your being drowsy and sleepy. That is one of the reasons that I prefer natural pain relievers that I can gather (herbs) and make my OWN preparations from. They are NOT adulterated with extraneous substances that have side effects such as this.
