Oh my gosh. Rats are the coolest little animals. Did you know the father rat will watch the young'uns while mom takes a break. The only real problem with rats is that they procreate so quickly. If they could get neutered then it would be great. They have very distinct personalities. Hope you get to keep the little creatures. Mmm

Your mom probably doesn't realize what sweet, smart pets rats can be. Maybe you could calmly show her websites & other information about pet rats so she'll be better informed. If she hasn't met your rats, see if she's willing to let you introduce her to them-- don't insist that she hold one if she's reluctant, but let her see how friendly they are while you handle them yourself. Maybe your grandmother could help talk to her, as well.
Good luck, I really hope your mom changes her mind & in any case I hope there is someone to care for your little ones.

Find out why she wants the rats gone. Is she the one taking care of them or are you? Is money an issue? See if there is something you can do to help them stay, like taking better care of them or maybe getting a part-time job (baby-sitting, or doing odd jobs for people) to help raise the money for them.

Grow up. Act responsibly. And next time ask before you bring home a pet. The poor animals have to suffer because they were brought into a home without parental permission.

1- look up all the prices and where your gonna get one. and look up everything it needs to survive so your aware of the costs.
2- look up interesting facts on it. interesting and convincing.
3-do extra chores around the house.
4-look up very cute pictures of them.
5-be mature about this situation. parents dont like....."plz plz plz plz plz plz plz!!!!!!waaaahhh!!!!!! PLZ PLZ PLZ" all the time.
6- tell them that you would do everything! and after you have all the research, gather them all around and give a presentation on all the research.
good luck!!!

if you really want your rats, (and i soo hope you mean mice) tell your mom you'll take good care of them. you'll pay for mouse food, give them toys, a good cage, whatever they need. ask her to take care of them for 2 days at least and let her see how good you're taking care of them. they'll probably make the room stink, so get a non-odor air freshner, open the windows daily, and clean they're cages. the rest is up to your mom
but omgosh mice are soooo cute!!
