It's just the way we decided to subdivide time. No 'science' behind it at all.
That's like asking if there was a scientific way that any unit of measurement was found... we just decided on it so that we would have a standard unit of measurement so we COULD measure things.
I believe that the actual days of the names came from Latin tradition, but I could be way off. The seven day calendar comes from the 7-day creation week in Genesis, and also has kept with us out of tradition. (Other faiths may have a different breakdown of a 'week' that I am not aware of.

The seven day week appears to have been established by the Hebrews or their predecessors. At first only the Sabbath had an actual name. The others were just numbers. But at some point, someone noticed there were seven "planets" in the sky (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn by the old system) and thought, "Hmm. Seven planets, seven days..."

The time it takes for one revolution of the earth is one day. That is the scientific answer.

I think the week has something to do with the moons revolution around the earth or something. And yes, I'm aware a revolution of the moon around the earth is a month, however I think the week has something to do with that too.

I have discovered the answer to this very question. It derives from ancient times, mainly the Romans. However, other cultures have the same basics. Look it up on Wikipedia.

The days of the week are named, in the main, for Teutonic deities.

No clue. Months, days, and years mean something astrologically, but weeks are arbitrary at best.
