I don't know about what you have to offer the dog, but if you are asking if you should adopt a pit bull..... then I think Pit Bulls are an awesome breed of dog and I think they are seriously miserepresented. Pit bulls are just like any other dog, a product of what they are trained to be. Unfortunately a lot of pit bulls are raised to fight.
Do you have a yard for the dog? Time EVERY DAY to train and socialize him? Do you have money to provide food/shelter/housing/etc? Including shots and unexpected vet bills? Do you plan on moving somewhere where you will not be able to take him?
These are all questions that need serious thought. Please don't adopt if you will have to turn right back around and give him back, it's not fair to Sid.
But if you get him, I wish you the best! Pit bulls are lovers. Treat him right! :-)

Most pits must be chained. They climb fences. A pit will fight another dog because it is bred into them. They usually turn around a year old. If you don't know anything about pitbulls, get a book and read up on them. If he ever gets sick enough to lose his head, you will have a very dangerous animal on your hands. They have crushing jaws. You need to know about pits before adopting one. They are not your normal pet and they carry a lot of responsibility. A good one is really worth the trouble though. They are smart, funny and loving.

I adopted my pit bull from my local humane society when she was 1 year old. I knew I wanted a pit bull for a long time, so I did a lot of research on the breed BEFORE I started looking for one. And I also did some research on how to pick the right dog for me from an animal shelter. It took me about 8 months of really looking for me to find the perfect dog. I was originally looking for a pit bull puppy, but I didn't find any that interested me. I went to the way back of the shelter to look at the adults, just in case the perfect one would be there. Well I found this beautiful little black and white pit bull sitting in her cage. She wasn't barking, she wasn't fearful, she wasn't anxious. She was just sitting in there, and when you talked to her she would wag her tail. I took her outside to how she would interact with me. She was very focused on me, and she would play with the ball, but she wasn't overly hyper. She just ignored any other dogs that would pass us by. I had a pretty good Idea that I wanted this dog. But Before I made my final decision I had the animal shelter temperament test her with other dogs, cats, and strangers. She did absolutely wonderful. I have had my girl for about 7 months now, and I couldn't ask for a better dog. She was definitely worth the wait, and the effort of doing my homework BEFORE I brought her home.
I hope sharing my experience with you will help you come to your decision on whether or not you think this dog will be the right dog for you, and if you will be the right home for this dog.
This is my girl after bringing her home:

Well it depends, my neighbors have a pitbull mix and its actually a pretty good dog so, I say you should, espesially if he's been in there a long time because if nobody adopts him in a certain period of time he'll get put to sleep!

Adoption is always the best option! Just make sure you aren't getting the dog for the wrong reasons,I personally love this breed but they are high maintenance, they are full of energy and need proper training.

You should have knowledge about the breed, be able to handle and train and socialize pitbulls properly. You should have plenty of time to exercise him and plenty of space for him to run. You should be able to afford vet bills and obedience training lessons. If you can do those things then I would say go ahead and adopt and enjoy your new four legged furry friend.

if you have never had a dog no not that one. you have to be very aggressive with it first of all how big? if its small maybe not have seen some younger ones that are ok. but the breed can be very demanding. if you want ot adopt go and talk to the people find one that is probaly friendly with people there are so many out ther eneeding homes you can find one for you and fit your life stype that won't be as hard to raise.

Well, that depends. If you have room for him and if you would be willing to make sure he gets trained, I would say yes. It sounds like you're already attached to the dog and he obviously needs a home.
