why did a certain bank treat my student loan exactly as though it was a grant and still expect me to pay it?

there were no questions asked, no calatereral, no co-signer, no plan for re-payment and I was requested not to sign it by Gittens.

I don't understand it either what is gittens? But if it is a loan it has to be paid back.
