When I was about 12 years old some neighbors had a German Shepard named Rex. He was a moody dog. I came to the conclusion that Rex did not like me. Where I live now 30+ years later, my neighbors have a German Shepard named Zeus. One day I stopped at the mail box and got out of my truck, I seen the movement from the corner of my eye as Zeus was out and heading toward me. He ran by nipping my hand and turned around and looked me in the eyes. My first thought was, "OMG, it Rex come back from the dead to bite me"! :-D

I believe it's possible!
The earlier animal was a Russian Blue female and the Tabby female we have now has the same coloured eyes, the same small build (yet a very healthy appetite) matured exceptionally early (first heat at 4 months) very aloof, won't use a cat bed, picks up her food and eats it off her paw and thinks the perfect place to spend the night is just above my hubby's head or on his pillow if he's away. One or two things would be coincidence but what are the chances of so many things being alike. I've had lots of cats and up till now all have been different so I don't think it's entirely wishful thinking on my part and it was my son who first suggested 'reincarnation'. Even if it isn't it's nice having two cats so alike. It's never happened with a dog though (not yet anyway)

It might be that the new dog is responding to the same stimuli as the old one because the people and the environment are the same, and it's more of a dog thing than a breed thing. And/or, maybe you subconsciously picked out a dog that had some similar mannerisms, because you missed the old one so much.
I don't believe in reincarnation, being a Christian, but even so, it doesn't make sense for a dog to have to reincarnate, if the purpose of reincarnation is for the spirit to keep being reborn until it achieves perfection. Dogs are innocent and just learn whatever habits, good or bad, from their environment. So there is usually nothing bad for them to have to clean up. But if there was, it would be some human's fault anyway for teaching it to them.

I'm not sure that i totally believe in reincarnation but my parents got a cat before they were married and it lived for 21 years. She was alive for 12 years of my life and a couple weeks ago i got a new kitten that looks almost exactly like my old cat and she does the same things as my old cat. Its like having the old cat back in the house. It is just amazing.

Yes.
Energy never dissipates and what we are composed of will continue in its atomic form long after our bodies have stopped using it.
The human body takes around 2000 years to break down completely.
If that's the case then we are all going to be part of everyone eventually.
There is a little bit of Aristotle in us all...
However the chances of one entire entity suddenly becoming another?
NOT A CHANCE!

By the way...well said Thomas H
I believe God made animals for our pleasure and we are His pleasure.
We all have one chance in this world and who we call as our maker will determine our eternal destiny...it's life...or...it's death. We are spirit and we will live forever, the question is.... where? There's no coming back to planet earth once your body dies. Life comes from The Creator...I choose The Creator....I choose Life.
As for our lovely pets...well...there's not much truth to this but...doggie heaven is a comforting thought.

i've got faith in reincarnation of the physique. because of the fact when you die, you will decompose and bypass to the earth. the place the two flowers or animals will use/eat prehaps a molecule of you, which eventualy would be eaten by ability of a human, making you reincarnated xD. and that i think of non secular reincarnation is a possiblity, yet not likely leaning in direction of it...

It is probably the way that you treat your dogs that has made them seem the same. You have brought the best out of them both.
If there is such a thing as reincarnation for people. I want to come back as one of MY dogs!
Good Luck

ill tell you a story and try to keep it short. i had a boxer for 9 years, she died, family was devastated. my mother in law who is very old and lives 8 hours away had no clue that my dog died. the same day (in fact 2hours apart) my dog died she went to a local breeder and bought a boxer. my mother in law is a very sick woman that can barely take care of herself and she has never owned a dog let alone mentioned wanting one. so about a week after our dog died we called her to tell her, thats when she told us she bought the dog and when she bought it, she then proceeded to tell us that she thinks its too much for her to handle and can we take it. of course we did, and although hes a male and is different in alot of ways, he does this one very distinct odd behavior when me and my wife come home EXACTLY how are other dog did. and anybody and everybody who seen my dog do this behavior always said "what the hell is your dog doing?" and i used to say," thats just something she does" and you know what? she's still doing it....so your dam skippy...i believe...
