I want to give up meat for good. I've been a vegetarian since the 26th of July. I also wanted to give up dairy products too, but I've failed miserably. But I have cut down on it. The problem is.... I'm losing weight. I didn't want to be a vegetarian to lose weight. I started off 5ft 5in and about 126. Now i'm about 122. It's not that much... but still. Is this all the bad food that's being flushed out of my body that's making me loose the weight. What should I experience since I first started out being a vegetarian? Thanks for the help!!!

I respect your desire to be a vegetarian but without meat and poultry the likely-hood is that you will lose weight. It may level off after a while and you should be able to maintain your weight. I have a good friend who is a vegetarian and he complains that he can not gain weight. He works out all the time but never gets any bigger. You may want to look into taking some supplements to help.

I understand you conserns. I went through the same thing when i started about a year ago. The weight loss is VERY commen and a good thing... All the fat from the meat is being flushed out and once your body gets used to the cutdown on meat... You will stop loosing so much weight at once. That happens whether you want it to or not... its very healthy and means your doing a good job with your new lifestyle! :D
