And by complicated i mean the wiring of the "hybrid tech" in with the computer and all of theat crap making it almost impossible to make more power out of a hybrid. Imean eventually most people will have to drive them but can the at least make some power i.e. the electric car some one listed below.

I don't know which ones you are looking at -- but the ones that I am aware of are not ugly, or underpowered or complicated, etc.

Driving a hybrid or fuel efficient vehicle helps to save natural resources and causes less pollution.

right this is a shorter answer: Hybrids could be compatiable with biofuels or petroleum fuels and are greater effective, fairly if youchronic short distances. Pay very close interest to while fashions come out, considering the fact that there are significant tax advantages for paying for new kind hybrids, yet those disappear while they have offered some form of a given kind. in case you won't be in a position to get a tax smash, it will take a together as so you might recoup the greater effective fee of a hybrid. evaluate a diesel. Ichronic a 2006 Jetta TDI, can use biodiesel as much as i choose and get an hassle-free of 45MPG in primairly city applying, fifty 5 on longer journeys and characteristic various cases gotten sixty 5 on my previous shuttle. Any which way, get a mild automobile with a small engine.

Not practical for woody areas? In what way?

And in what way is a Hybrid Camry any more or less ugly than a standard Camry, given that the two cars are identical?

Also, clearly not everyone is wanting hybrids and fuel efficient cars, have you read the things people post on here?

The point is, alot of people are looking for more fuel efficient cars (hybrids included) because they are the right car for them. No car is going to be the right car for everyone, but for alot of people "greener" cars are more practical.

-Attractiveness is subjective.
-If you don't race them, you don't "need" a fast car
-If you're not going to be doing any towing, you don't need a powerful car
-While the technology may be more complicated in a hybrid, the user interface is exactly the same. The technology in efficient standard cars is the same, only more efficient. Did you complain when computers got faster?
-Not everyone lives in a wooded area.

Alot of people live in cities or suburbs, where a small efficient car will be exactly what they need to get themselves to and from work and errands.

If you're living out in the Woods, and are hauling massive loads through snowdrifts and over fallen logs (wooded area?) by all means by the biggest land crusher you can afford to fill with ever more expensive fuel.

MAYBE BECAUSE WE WANT TO DO SOME SMALL PART IN BEING NICE TO THE PLANET. It also gives a tax deduction, and that is always nice (in US at least). Fossil fuels are finite. We must begin to think globally. If you think that you can continue to act without consequence, you are wrong. For too long we have abused our planet and now, it is pi**ed! You can either be proactive and help, or stick your head in the sand and wait for disaster. Every little bit helps. A hybrid car, recycling, using energy efficient appliances and light bulbs, turning off that extra light. Just think, you will be part of the solution, and not the problem! What a feeling of empowerment that could be!

Yeah, this one has been bothering me for a long time.

You know who is a "Jihad Environmentalists" ? Someone who will sacrifice himself for the environment.

What am I trying to say? A big car has many advantages in Safety and comfort.

1. If you get hit by someone or if you hit something, you are much safer in a big SUV than you re in a small hybrid (Its true that since they stand taller, SUVs have a higher rollover risk, but most of them come with mandatory anti-rollover technology nowadays. Also rollover is caused by driving recklessly - which you can avoid - while accidents can happen without your control)

2. If you have passengers, especially kids. If you are roomy, not only are you more comfortable, but you are more relaxed so your trip is safer. Most SUVs have optional DVD players to keep your kids occupied so they don't distract you with crying and fighting even on long trips.

3. In rain, in snow, and in flooding - can you even compare the two?

4. If you need to buy a bulky item at Home Depot - don't you put yourself and others in danger by trying to put it on the roof of your tiny car?

5. The fact is that in a SUV you sit very tall so you can see better, also it gives you a great feeling of being in charge, making you calmer and reducing anxiety and road rage. Also most of them have bigger, more comfy seats.

Con:

-1. Fuel economy. If you live on a budget (i.e. you dont have alot of money) an SUV will cost you more up front AND in fuel. (I am blessed that, as a salesman, my company pays all my car expenses. If they they wouldnt i would proably drive a Toyota Avalon)

I'm not sure that "everyone" wants a hybrid. Fuel efficient cars still have a long way to go in this country. I am impressed with the Smart car that is available overseas. I can't believe that we aren't able to get it yet!

as for slowness try 0-60 in 4 sec

for not practical well te average person in the US travels 40 miles a day and this car can go over 200 on a charge.

and also not everybody wants hybrids or anything like that, otherwise i wouldnt see a gas guzzling SUV commercial as i am seeing right now

Well, not everone is, but those who do do so for a number of reasons. Some feel like they are saving the world, others just want to save money on fuel. Still others just want to have an unusual car to talk about. It's their choice and it is still a free society so they can do what they want for what ever reason and they do not need your permission or approval.

To help refill our wallets instead of our gas tanks, and make the air more breathable so we can live longer to be able to have the priveledge of driving on the road, for another thirty or more years.

Because they're not ugly, not a lot more complicated, require less service than regular cars, just as practical as a regular car, require less gas, and produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions.
