Yes judaiism borrowed from the babalonians, egyptians and summerians. Then the christians borrowed from all of the above as well as all of the pagan religions. None of the are original they are just slightly different recycled versions of one another. Not an original idea in the last 4000 years.

When an event is historical, you'll often find traces of it in many different cultures. For example, the Flood story is present all around the world in vastly different cultures, and although it has been altered (as you would expect) over the passage of centuries there are still elements that are the same as the Biblical Flood narrative.

The Sumerian culture existed right there in the same part of the world where the Garden of Eden was, and it is quite likely that records of historical events such as creation, the flood, and the Garden of Eden would also be preserved in Sumerian culture, as well as in the Bible.

Also, regardless of which texts were written first, you have to examine them carefully to see which matches historical evidence the best. If I recall correctly, Sumerian religious stories tend to contain more mythological-type information, whereas the Bible is very historically detailed and archaelogists are constantly finding things that match the history as given in the Bible.

Because there was a lot of interchange between the cultures of the area. Also, if you look at the Biblical account, Abraham was from a Sumerian city, so he would have known that account and passed it to his family......

Remember that in Genesis, Moses wrote it long after it happened. God told Moses what to write. I believe the others copied from the oral traditions of the Jews about these stories.
