OK..On a more serious note ...You can catch Blue Crabs most any time of day, if you use Crab traps. If you are going to Crab by Hand Line (Single line) or using a Trott Line, the best time is in the morning and early evening. Crabs like cool deeper water so over cast days and lower sunlight times are the best conditions for the most part.
The most popular bait for Crabs, is the good old dependable Chicken Neck. You can buy them cheaply at most any Meat Department or Food Store, nationwide. They last for a long time and won't fall apart after hours in the water.
They can be used fresh or frozen doesn't matter. The only skill needed is a little patience while pulling thr baited string to the surfacr slowly so they stay latched onto the chicken neck. Last summer myself and 2 friends caught over 2 bushels of Crabs in under 5 hours up here in the Chesapeake Bay of Maryland.. Haven't gone this summer yet but I'm raring to go........

For crabbing the most important thing is location. You have to find where the crabs are scavenging for food. If you are trying to get blue claw crabs try local canals. Bait of choice is chicken legs, necks, or thighs. Use a crab trap, four doors are the best, or you could use a long string and a scoop net. With a long string, you tie a chicken leg and throw it out. Once you see the string straighten you know a crab is on the other end. Grab your scoop net and slowly pull in the string. The crab won't let go until it's near the surface. By that time you should have scooped it with your net.

i was puerto vallarta and at night all these crabs attacked the beach id have to say night time
