"And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly." (Matthew 6:5-6)

Shouldn't everyone be praying in secret as Christ suggests?

Christ follower, What part of "pray to thy Father, which is in secret" didn't you understand? Surely you don't deny Christ's words.

There are those who pray just to be heard and to be noticed and not for the glory of God. These are who Christ is referring to in this passage. Prayer with a sincere heart whether in secret or out loud is always heard by our Lord.

Yes, just like Paul said.
1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
You do this in your head, in your heart. No need for showing off.
