Some people like it grilled. I don't. The traditional way is to boil it. You lose too many nutrients this way. I like to steam it.

The best way to cook corn on the cob is in the oven. Pre-heat your oven to 350, remove the first couple of husks from the corn cob leaving the rest of the husks in place. Soak the corn in the sink in cold tap water for 10 minutes. Place the corn on a large sheet pan and roast in the oven uncovered for 30 minutes. Remove husks and silks, serve immediately with butter, salt and pepper. By not boiling the corn, you retain more of the nutrients and roasting concentrates the natural sugars and it tastes so much better.

The proper way? There are many ways to cook corn on the cob. Barbecueing is certainly one delicious way. Boiling on a stove top is my personal favorite. I usually break mine into smaller cobs of about 5" long each prior to boiling. Bring a large pot of water to a roilling boil, drop in cobbs one at a time with tongs. Boil 15 minutes. They're done when you can stab them with a meat fork or skewer and the kernels are soft. If you like crunchy done cobs, boil for only 10 minutes. After removing from the water, cool them for handling. Meatntime butter a piece of bread. Holding the buttered bread in one hand, cup your hand and slide the cob up and down the cupped buttered bread while rotating the cob slightly so the surface of each cob is coated evenly. m-m-m-m yum!
Each person can salt/pepper their cob to taste.

You really do not want to cook corn on the cob. . . most people over cook it anyways. I just boil water, then turn off the burner, and add the cobs. . . . let set in the hot water for about 5 min. That about all you need to do.

I remove most of the outter husk from the corn, leaving on a few leaves. I then place the corn in the microwave and nuke it for about 2 minutes per ear. The water in the corn heats and steams the corn in the husk, which gives you a very flavorful ear of corn that is also moist and juicy. Remove husk carefully and top with kosher salt and sweet butter. If you're adventurous you can sprinkle with lime juice and chili powder too!

This is a sure way to make it juicy and sweet!!

Boil in equal parts whole milk and water, or 1 part milk to 2 parts water. Add 1-2 cups sugar, depending on how much corn you're making(1C is good for 4-6 ears). Boil 5-10 minutes.

I prefer to steam them for 5-8 minutes, or BBQ them. Just cover in butter, wrap in foil and put on a medium heat grill for 5 minutes (2 1/2 min. each side).
