I think all of us, at one time or another, will have a rope we must cut. The rope that keeps us bound to what makes us feel the safest is the rope that God will almost always ask us to cut. For Abraham the rope was Issac. For the prostitute that knew Jesus could save her, the rope was an alabaster box. For Moses the rope was a comfortable shepherd life on the side of a mountain. For Saul, who became Paul, the rope was his religion.

I, too have a rope to cut, and am trying to gain the confidence to cut it. Not knowing where we might land is what scares us away from cutting the rope. It feels safe when we can hang on to the proverbial rope. But, somehow we must realize that the rope is actually a noose around our neck, not a safety line.

Yes!!!!!!!!
I would have cut the rope.
Even before hearing the end!!
I may not have done it right away.......the moment He said to
but in reading that story I know I would have cut the rope.
Thanks for the story and reminder that all my hope is in Him!!
Trust iin the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight. Psalms3

Interesting email. It does basically get to us putting our faith in someone other than self.
