There going to hire a temp to fill the position. But I would like the job. How can I go about asking to be considered for the position. I have all the qualifications for the job. Would it seem rude to ask? What do you think I should do?

Talk to your supervisor and let them know you are interested in the position so they are not blind sided then talk to t human resources person or whoever is responsible for the hire and let them know you are interested in transitioning into the position from where you are now.

It's better to do it before they hire a temp in for it if possible since it'll save them the troubble of finding a temp then either waiting until the term is up or possibly hiring the temp if they work out.

Would be a great thing to do go to your supervisor and let him/her know you are very interested, and have the qualifications for the position. Shows integrity and desire to succeed

Not rude at all. If you are interested, ask the boss. The worst thing that can happen is that they might say no, and then you aren't any further behind than now.

Good luck.

Absolutely not. By all means, ask for the position. Employers love people who take initiative.
