do you have a clue how much this flawed, hasty decision has cost calculated as a present value estimate? billions? has the war ever stopped since that decision? how will it end?

In 1948 per UN sanction the land was called Palestine and divided into two parts. One half for Jews and one half for the so-called Palestinians. But contrary to UN sanction, Jews suddenly called their area Isreal and declared it to be an independent nation. Then the great immigration began, referring to all the Jews displaced by WWII. The surround "arab" people (Syria, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia etc.) were shocked and fought the idea. Jumping ahead, that is why we are still fighting in Iraq and that is why Bin Landen has such a huge following. Millions of Muslims really hate Israel inventing itself and surviving only because USA and Britian protect them from any massive invasion. 1948 dummies!

Yep, used to be Palestine and became Israel. The British Government did the same in India, dividing the country into Pakistan and India. Oh, golly well done chaps! Let's just be honest and call the people who made these decisions "assholes."

Actually the UK didn't serize anyland in 1948.

The UK had a mandate for all of Transjordan since WW l.

It's amazing that you don't try and say that the UK seized what is now Jordan in 1921, because thats when the UK, arbitrarily divided Transjordan into east and west along the Jordan River.

There were no " joradnians" or " palestinians " in Transjordan.

All the arabs were the same.

Their were no tribal lines that fell along the Jordan River.

I think you're confused. The UK was granted the Mandate of Palestine following WWI. Israel declared it's independence from the UK in 1948.

You must not have a history degree.

The Balfour Declaration by Great Britian in 1917 partitioned what was left of the Ottoman Empire following World War I. It was ratified by the League of Nations and endorsed by Congress in 1922.

Actually the territory came under British control in 1917. Go study some history and try again.

I'm going to guess Israel. I think the counterpoint to your arguement is that generally Europe is anti-semite and that there'd probably needed a proper home for the Jews.
