I am guessing you do not have children or are just wanting to see what people have to say. To truly love is unexplainable. Its not something that you have to get to know or something you have to experience over and over. From the moment you truly love something it never fades, it only continues to grow. At times it is over whelming and you sit in aw of the feeling, because you never knew you could feel that way. To truly love you must be able to set aside all your pride and self-worth and allow yourself to be engulfed in the feeling.

True love gives to the point of sacrifice. True love dies to his or her self in order that others my live, be free, and at some times happy. True love is what God did through Christ. A good example of that kind of love happens when a parent gives all they have to see their children are well provided for to the point that they sacrifice their dreams and die to their own personal desires until that child is able to do it for themselves. This example doesn't even scratch the surface of what God has done but i believe it is as close as anyone my even hope to understand.

That would be impossible to answer. Everyone has a different idea about what it means to truly love.
I Corinthian 13 has a good idea of love, though, if you are interested.

Two things...
The happiness of another person is more important to you than your own happiness.
Power and trust. You have given someone the power to hurt you... and you trust them not to use it.
