I would think if it is a name which the child will be teased about - then yes.....

Yes. My name is Chad and not too many have that name so i feel one of a kind and the only other Chads i know like being different. Sometimes even shyer.
Most people with common names like to fit in and they try usually hang out with a lot of people.

Yes....at least my l o n g name had an effect on my life. Now I'm getting kind of used to it. I shortened it to a nickname when I was young (or somebody else did). Still...I wish I'd had a simple common name...or at least a cute name.

The psychology literature has shown that boys with unusual names fare worse academically and socially than girls with unusual names.
I should think "Harry" would be OK, except kids could tease about "Hairy".

Yes, particularly if you have a mean streak and name your baby girl Hortense when all the other little girls are named Heather.
