I know this is true because I have inspired people and I know many people who inspire me and these aren't famous people, they're regular everyday people. My friends and family and a few teachers.

To inspire people you have to know what factors motivate them Everyone is different so you examine the types of motivators a your disposal. You have intrinsic and extrinsic, short and long term motivators. You also have the leadership roles played. Is it a situational leadership role? Last would be celebrating milestones and goal achievement. So you can take one example and run it to conclusion. Jane Doe is a quiet unassuming person who is inspired by animal rights. She has a fire in her belly only for this cause (intrinsic motivation) She is appointed leader of this cause (situational ) and her burning desire has a spillover on to others and she rallies them to act (extrinsic). All these are inspirational and the risks have their own rewards. It's being able to "be all that you can be" as the Army once said. People will follow and be inspired. Always remember the adage, if you're not the lead dog on a sled team, your view never changes.
