They are still hoping to gain control of the Supreme Court again.They can then declare all things Christian unconstitutional.They can then force the people of the US to "accept" homosexuality,ban on anything christian,euthenasia,etc.
They need to read and comprehend Jeffersons letter they so proudly "added" to the constitution (separate the church from public life).

Madeline O'Hare was murdered by her fundamentalist Christian son. Are you really advocating murder for Christians to appease God? Maybe you should. Both slavery and murder are endorsed by the bible.
You mention the "Homosexual Controversy". Most people accept that some people are homosexual, and they don't see any reason to change those people. Only Christians and Muslims seem to make this a controversy. Do you really want to be in agreement with "Radical Islam", as you call them?
And I, as an atheist, have many issues with Christianity. One of them is that many Christians, such as yourself, threaten my own free will to come to my own conclusions about the religion and the universe. This is not only an underpinning of this country (US), but of Christianity.
It seems like you, with your militant viewpoints, share the same fantaticism of "Radical Islam' and blind you to the compassionate teachings of Jesus Christ.
You have a lot of anger. Perhaps a therapist could help you. A biblical quoted may help you ;
"Before you attempt to remove a splinter from your friend's eye, remove the log that in yours", Jesus Christ

I somewhat disagree with you about the issues that make atheism relevant (and therefore give it a voice) in today's society. First off, we don't "need" a voice. Atheism has always been around. The reason it's more prevalent today is due to the attacks of religious fundamentalism on basic civil rights. Since moderate religious people don't seem to care about these things, ethical atheists are essentially forced to involve themselves in the political sphere.
The "Homosexual Controversy" is relevant, because it is an instance of religious fundamentalists attempting to legislate their moral beliefs. Another example would be Creationists trying to teach religion in our schools.
The fact that religious fundamentalism is infringing more on the daily lives of everybody else is the reason atheism has such a strong voice these days.

I don't want to eliminate god. Atheists in general don't want to eliminate god, we just don't want a particular religion to be enforced in this country. We don't take advantage of any situation for our own gain. The gay rights advocates have their own challenge to overcome and their win (or loss) is not shared with us.
Atheists have no real defined agenda other than allowing all religions to be equally represented in this country. We don't all support gay rights or hate the war in Iraq or support abortion or anything of that sort.

Are you talking about Madalyn Murray O'Hair? She was killed by a psychopath, and the Christians have more than their fair share. The murder was about greed and plenty of Christians are in jail for crimes tied to greed. Your premise is as faulty as your information.

I'm actually disappointed. Your questions are usually alot more thought provoking than this one (which just comes across as a bit of a rant really). This question makes you seem like a wild eyed crazy Fundie (which I am sure you are not) Come on! you can do much better than cheap shots like this!!!!

Are you saying we shouldn't be fighting this war on Islam in order to promote Christianity in a secular nation?

As a gay man and Christian, I would say no......and as a U.S. citizen again, I say no....
These things have nothing to do with atheism....there are atheists that oppose the war, atheists that are gay...but, likewise, many gay people are Christians, and many people that oppose the war are Christians....

If seeking reality via reason isn't sufficiently motivating, then probably neither are wars or gay persecution.
