I was the one who asked before how to sleep with herpes on fingers and I seem like a bit of a joker and not taking it seriously..However, I had herpes on my fingers for about 4 days now and it seriously is taking a toll on my life. I'm basically disabled on my right hand and have to learn how to do everything, including writing, with my left hand. It doesn't look like it's getting any better. School is gonna start for me in a week and a half and I don't wanna go to school with this. I just wanna ask how long it takes for this outbreak to finally heal? What it looks like when it does get better? The skin around it is so dry and the patch that is infected doesn't even feel like its part of my skin anymore...just stuck to my skin.

I would only like answers from people who have studied this and people who have actually experienced this.

Average-sized herpes lesions will usually heal in about 10 days to 2 weeks; faster if you take Valtrex or acyclovir.
As for sleeping, invest in a pair of cotton work gloves to wear in bed. They will protect your eyes from inadvertent infection and prevent the spread of the virus.
