I like all kinds, except tomato. Have any good recipes (not canned!)?

Chicken Soup
Start with a 1 - 1 1/2 lb chicken cut up
Put in a large pot and fill with water
Add chicken and salt n pepper.
Bring to boil and then simmer for 1 hour.
Cut up:
Carrots (4)
Onion (1 Large)
Celery (4 Stalks)
Turnips (2 Medium)
Parsnips (3 Parsnips)
Potatoes (2 Medium) and put to the side.
Take out Chicken after 1 hous and cool to the side. Put Veggies in to pot add water if necessary and continue to simmer. Add fresh Parsley sage rosemary and thyme. Salt and pepper to taste. Cut up chicken into rough sizes and place back into pot. Continue to simmer until veggies are tender. You may want to add a boullion cube to enhance the chicken flavor. Up to you. You have Chicken Vegetable soup.
You can add cooked rice or noodles to it.

Slow Cooker Potato Soup

INGREDIENTS
8 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 small onion, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
2 cubes chicken bouillon
2 tablespoons dried parsley
6 cups water
2 cups milk
1/2 cup all-purpose flour

DIRECTIONS
Place the potatoes, onion, butter, chicken bouillon cubes, parsley and water into a slow cooker. Set on low and let cook for 6 to 8 hours.
At least half an hour before serving, stir together the milk and flour until no lumps remain, and mix into the soup. Cook for 30 minutes or until the soup is thickened.

This soup is so good even kids eat it.

Chicken Soup with Potato Dumplings


1/4 c Onion; chopped
1 tb Vegetable oil
2 c Chicken; cut up, cooked
1 c Carrots; sliced
1 1/2 c Bisquick
1 tb Green onion; chopped w/ top
1/4 c Milk
1 ea Garlic; crushed clove
6 c Chicken broth
1 c Celery; sliced
1/4 ts Sage; dried, crushed leaves
1 c Mashed potatoes; cold
1/8 ts Pepper

The first 8 ingredients (onion to sage) make up the soup. Cook onion and garlic in oil in 4 qt. Dutch oven, stirring frequently, until golden brown. Add broth, checken, celery, carrots, and sage. Heat to boiling. Prepare the potato dumplings by mixing the Bisquick, mashed potatoes, green onion, pepper, and milk until a soft dough forms. Beat vigorously 30 seconds. Knead about 2 minuted or until smooth, adding more baking mix if necessary. Roll dough into 18 balls, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Drop the dumplings into the boiling soup. Cook uncovered over low heat 10 minutes. Cover and cook 10 minutes longer.

Vegetable Soup.
1kg Brisket Bones.
3 Celery stems diced.
3 Medium carrots diced.
1 Large onion diced.
1 Packet soup mix (split peas etc).
Additional vegetables

In a 10l stock pot brown the Brisket Bones in 2t cooking oil, turning often.
When thoroughly brown, remove and pour off fat,
Add 2t cooking oil and add onion, celery and carrot and sauté for several minutes, stirring from time to time.
Add a jug of boiling water and the soup mix and stir
Add Brisket bones and more hot water and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to a gentle simmer and leave for 90 minutes stirring from time to time.
After an hour remove the bones and set aside to cool.
Skim off any fat on the surface and add more vegetables. Peas, beans, corn etc. (pasta spirals, elbow bow ties etc could be added, at this stage.
Season to taste with S & P etc and bring back up to heat.
Remove the meat from the bones, cut into bites sized pieces and return to pot.

Tortilla soup! I love this recipe, but there are tons of others on the internet!

1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
6 cups chicken stock
2 cups cooked shredded chicken
1 cup frozen corn
1 tsp chili powder
salt and pepper to taste
1 chipotle pepper, chopped very fine
Tortilla chips
Sliced limes, chopped cilantro, sour cream, cheddar cheese for garnishes

Saute onions and garlic in olive oil until translucent. Add stock, corn, chili powder and chipotle pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer. Add chicken and simmer 10-15 minutes. Serve over chips with your choice of garnishes.

Definitely not onion soup if you are having friends around.

Although very nice, the air would gain a certain aroma later in the evening.

How about a nice seafood soup? With some muscles and crab to add a bit of flavour?

I like butternut squash soup. I don't have a specific recipe but this is what i do.
i peel and cut in chunks i medium butternut squash, 4-6 carrots, 2 zucchini, and 2 sweet potatoes. i put it in a big pot of boiling water and when soft blend it. and salt and maybe nutmeg. add beans like lima beans or lintils and cook about 1 1/2 hours until soft.it's really good and it freezes well.

My favorite!

6 potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 lg. onion, chopped
4 carrots, pared and sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced, including leaves
4 chicken bouillon cubes
1 tbsp. parsley flakes
5 cups water
1 to 2 teaspoons salt, or to taste
Pepper, to taste
1/3 cup butter
1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
PREPARATION:
Put all ingredients except milk in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours, until vegetables are tender. Stir in evaporated milk during last 30 to 60 minutes.

Taco Soup

1 lb, ground beef
1 small diced onion
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1/2 pkg. ranch dressing
1 large can stewed tomaoes
1 can Rotel tomatoes
2 cans pinto beans ( or black beans) with juice
2 cans corn with juice

Saute onion with ground beef ; drain grease.

Add all other ingredients and simmer for about 45
minutes or until flavors are combined

Garnish each bowl with fresh cilantro sprigs . Serve with flour tortillas.

make vegetable beef soup. its really good.
or if you like tacos try taco soup. it is easy to make and really good too.
