Sure, I'm Mexican and I came into the military as a Legal Resident and got my citizenship through the military at no cost at all. I have alot of Filipino friends in the military, unfortunately one Filipino friend just lost his life last week out here in Iraq (roadside bomb:(. He got the same memorial, same respects as any other soldier, white, black, hispanic, doesn't matter. Aren't the Phillipines some sort of US Entity though? Kind of like Puerto Rico? Not sure, but good luck!

No. The program by which Filipinos enlisted in the US navy ended in 1992 when the Philippines kicked the US out of the bases in the Philippines.

The last 30 enlisted in April of that year.

There are no "waivers." You must be a citizen of the United States or have a green card to enlist.

In my Company I would say that about 20% were not US citizens. In my platoon alone we had 2 from the Dominican Republic, 1 Japanese, 2 Filipinos, 1 from mexico, 2 from Brazil, and 1 from Peru.

we also had 2 from Somoa, 1 puerto rico, and 1 from guam but they are already considered us citizens sins those are protectorates.

And yes the U.S. military helps people obtain the citizenship.

US Armed forces do accept foreign nationals. If you are already in the US, then just locate the nearest Navy recruiting office. If you are in the Philippines, then go to or call the US Consulate for more info.
