Hi. I would like some information on a old piece of war artillery . It belongs to my father who would like some information as to it's value. It reads "Fuse Dummy M50" at the top, along with a year of 1941. It is kind of copper colored with a silver cone at the top, and at the very top, a small pin with a loop at the end. It is 16 inches tall by 3 inches wide. Thanks!

The markings you really want to see are: "EOD certified: Inert."

Even training fuze's can have an explosive component.

Call the police and have them take a look at it.

Conranger: I have seen many different types of training munitions that have an explosive component. This is why the word 'inert' is used to designate those that do not have any explosive or dangerous components.

It is hard to tell without seeing it. Like stated above you must be careful if it is live. Even a spotting charge can hurt you. You might get 20-30 bucks at a surplus store. It is from an M4 37mm aircraft weapon

Um, has it been defused? If so, it could be worth about $20. If not, it could be worth your life. Munitions don't age well.
