The Human Papilloma Virus(HPV).transmitted via sexual intercourse can cause some cervical cancer in women and men as well.
I have been unable to find mention of any use of any kind of prophylactic in the Scriptures.
It seems that the use of condoms, male and female, is quite instrumental in the prevention of not only the usual STD's but this form of cancer as well.
To repeat the question, How should believers treat the use of condoms for men and the condoms made for women as well?

OOPS.
She didn’t answer the question; however, GeOrGiA PeAcH did call to my attention the incorrect stating of the opening sentence.
It SHOULD read: The Human Papilloma Virus(HPV).transmitted via sexual intercourse can cause some cervical cancer in women and HPV in men as well.

Harihara S mentioned that “Condoms were not in the revelations of old or new testament or in Holy Quran or in Bhagavad Gita or in Vedas or in Holy book of Zorastrians or Sikhs neither was in the revelations made by the Ancestral Spirits of African tribes or American Indians.”
If Harihara S is as learned as he or she thinks he or she is, that along with his or her common sense would help him or her to realize, know and understand that just because something isn’t written, doesn’t mean it didn’t exist.

If ur married and using protection then I think it's ok. but it's something that need to be between u and God. In my opinion, if u are using protection and God wants u to get pregnant, then u will.

Condoms were not in the revelations of old or new testament or in Holy Quran or in Bhagavad Gita or in Vedas or in Holy book of Zorastrians or Sikhs neither was in the revelations made by the Ancestral Spirits of African tribes or American Indians. Then why bother about some thing which never existed in that with what we are now?

Un necessary head ache for you dear.

The Bible can be very specific at times but we have to remember how long ago it was written.
I think the main principal here is that if you are only having Sex with your Husband/Wife then you wouldn't necessarily have to worry about protecting yourself from STD'd & STI's. That is the protection that is given to us in the Bible. A moral code that when folloewd will keep us from hardship.
With that said, even though the Catholic Church tries to tell people not to use condoms (for what ever reason they have decided to make up) I think that in this day & age, they shuld be used if you do not want to become pregnant or are engaging in premarital sex. Because obviously there are a lot of bugs out there some that can kill.
Read your Bible, learn the lessons, use common sense at the same time.

My opinion.... There is no such thing as "safe sex"

Using a condom is just "safer sex"
Using a condom is a personal choice not a spiritual choice. It's a physical health thing - not a spiritual health thing...

Many Christians are against distribution of condoms, because they say it will encourage people to engage in premarital sex.I understand their teachings of abstinence and staying chase- I'm all for that!
But Christians should understand that not everyone are spiritually strong and could abstain from sex. They should be balance about their thinking i.e. Yes premarital sex is wrong according to biblical teachings, but don't condone distribution/usage of condoms. Encourage people to use condoms for every sexual act. If they can't protect themselves emotionally and spiritually at least protect themselves physically.

If they care about the health of the people around them, they would advocate condoms and other birth control. But still many people rail against these things. So what does that say about them?

Get the condoms blessed by a priest before using them. To save time, have him bless a case at a time.

i would say that we should treat them the same way as non-believers. we know we shouldn't have sex before marriage, but we also know (and if not, we're in BIG trouble. lol) that we probably won't want to have a kid every time we want to make love to our partner.

edit- lady_kikyo_xxx: rats? LOL

Keep them out of direct sunlight, and away from rats and small children.

god created sex for the sole purpose of allowing human beings to procreate. any act which hampers pregnancy is clearly sinful.

using a condom is just as bad as masturbating.
