I have a Dashound who is about two years old.
She is kind of dirty so I really need to clean her.
Is it safe for her to get a bath?

It is safe to bathe a dog that is in season. However, she may be more moody and more likely to be nippy or uncooperative during this time. If I were you, I would wait for a few days until she is coming out of season. Although I have seen some real messes and understand if it can't wait. You can use baby wipes on her hind legs if you need to.

First, it is heat not period. Second, it is fine to give her a bath while in heat, she might be a bit moody though. You should get her spayed ASAP. This will reduce the chances of cancer in the future and will also prevents annoying heat cycles, a oops litter, and lots of dogs following her around.

Your dog is in heat, not having a "period". PLEASE get your dog spayed as soon as you can. Doing so reduces the risks of cancer down the road, and having another litter of puppies who may wind up in a shelter or homeless. On top of that the dog will no longer go into heat and you will not have to worry about it again.
You should be fine to bathe her.

Just make sure YOU clean up afterwards or half the dogs in the district will be following you around.

Yes, and she is in heat, not on her period. If you do not want her to breed, you better get her spayed ASAP, the vet will do it while she is in heat, it just costs a little bit more.

I wouldn't see why not . I give my dog baths when she is in heat .

dog only have bladder problems not periods or they could possibly be in heat if blood comes out
