I have a corgi puppy that has done the same. I also live in an apartment. I got up 6am up until six months of age (sometimes 3am also) and then I thought... there has to be a better way. I took him to a trainer and she gave me lots of great ideas to learn how to coexist with a puppy and not wear you out.

Dogs are creatures of habit, she is actually training you to get up and play/feed/take her out at that time. Setup your own schedule and stick to it and she will eventually adjust to your schedule.

Get yourself a crate and put her in the crate until it is time to get up. Also, make sure your schedule is reasonable. It is unreasonable to expect a puppy to sleep more than 10 hours without wanting to get up, play, eat and do their thing.

7-8 am is early....I think you should count yourself lucky. My pup used to wake us up at 5 am. Now he does that at 6:30. I take him for a walk and come back home and sleep again. How much can the poor dog hold ??!!!

Well afraid you are just going to have to get used to waking up early. 6 months old she is still a puppy and puppies like kids all seem to wake up at the crack of dawn wanting to be fed, to use the bathroom, and play.
You'll just have to endure until she gets older and more mature. She's still just a kid in dog time.

Sorry, I have the same problem. I just make myself get up, feed and let him go potty, then I go back to bed. He doesn't like it when I go back to bed on my days off but soon enough he lays down and takes a nap too. Then when I get up I play with him and take him for a walk. Sometimes ya gotta get your butt outta bed to take care of her first, then go back to bed. She's gotta go when she's gotta go and they get in a routine every morning. Dogs like a certain time a day to be fed and let out. It's cruel to make her hold it so you can sleep. Ah yes, the responsiblities of owning a pet.

Well at at that age she want to go out and do her business and I think that is way better then heaving her do it in the house . It will take time for the dog to learn to hold it but at this point you just need to try and maybe tell her to go back to sleep or something else .

She is a puppy & is testing you. However depending on what time you put her in the crate 7 or 8 hours is probably the max to have her in the crate,

You just have to wake up and take her out to do the business. If you like, you can continue your sleep.

My 4 months old puppy wake up between 5-6AM in the morning. I have to wake up, take her to backyard. If I am still sleepy, I just sleep on the floor in my family room, let her play by herself.

You should leave it some food for the night, and maybe get a doggie door.

P.S. put the bowl next to where he sleeps.

Good luck!
