I always took a bath with epsom salts for sore muscles... you have to make the water as hot as possible, and it works wonders. But I'm not sure if it is a good idea to get empsom salts on an open wound like most infections). I would double-check the warnings on the package before putting it on something that is infected, and it will probably sting like crazy.

Epsom salts are almost always put into baths. So, unless you have an open wound, where it might hurt, go ahead. I don't know if it would help with an infection - seems like an antibiotic would be better, but they won't hurt.

very safe, Just dont drink a ton of it, It can cause diarrhea. My doctor ordered me to take epsom salt baths because of some serious wounds with infections. I cannot say it helped but i do not believe it hurt either.

Yes, this is an old and tried remedy for swelling and rejuvenation. Take care not to heat the water to hot. I would use with care on open wounds.
