My sister got hers a couple years ago when she was 55. She had worked on it for quite a few years, slowed down a couple times by family illnesses.

YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD! I think it's great that you want to go on with your education! Go for it.

BTW, I think retirement is overrated....

NO, go for it. Your only problem may be finding a University that will accept you... but you won't know until you try.
