Umm, any red in my tattoos has never looked hot pink, not even during or immediately after getting inked. Although your tattoo's still not completely healed (that takes about 8 weeks, depending on size, etc.), I would be concerned that the color did not take like it should have.

It's probably pretty easily remedied though, if you're willing to have it retouched. If your artist is a good and reputable one, they should be willing to touch up the color for free, since it never took the way that you initially designed it. If not, I would recommend talking to another artist and explaining the situation.

The bulk of artists I know are proud of their work and want you to be just as happy with the final product as they are. Hopefully, with a little touch-up, this tattoo will be what you always wanted. Best of luck!

It looks hot pink?! hmmm.... you should get that fixed. When I got my red spider webs, they were never hot pink. Give it 2 months (the healing process will then be completely healed) and see what the color it is. If not red still, you may have to get it fixed. But go somewhere else, I mean you can go back to the original guy but obviously their red is more pink.

That is the scabbing process of it healing. It will go back to red and if it happens to fade a tiny bit (it shouldn't but does happen with brighter colors) have it touched up after it's all healed and you've consulted your artist about if it's good timing. Scabs are off colored because it's the extra ink surfacing and leaving as your tattoo heals. It's normal for tattoos to take a couple months to heal all the way and colors to come back.

The unfortunate truth is that color doesn't show up well on darker skin. You could go back & ask if they could put white highlights in it to make the colors seem brighter. Another answerer said blackwash tattoos are good & that's a great suggestion. They are very classic & show up well usually. A good idea is to ask the tattoo artist what would look good on your skin. Different artists use different brands of tattoo ink & they should know enough to be able to help get the best out of the art.

The color will change slightly, but not from hot pink to red. I would suggest going back and telling them you aren't happy with the color and get them to fix it. My wrist tat has red and it's red as red as red. No question what color it is.

It totally depends on your skin tone, I have olive skin and my red rose is hot pink now, but I don't think having it redone is going to help, but I would ask your tattoo artist if it will help to get it redone.

RED is RED not hot pink. Go back and have the artist do it right. You paid for it and it will be with you your entire life.

it will stay the color it is.

over a long period of time the colors fade but I think if it is really pink it will still look pink.

most people complain about the red when it fades because it turns a pinkish color.

if you don't like it redo it.
