You read about how moses split a lake in half then closed it up with his cane and how Jesus walked on water and came back to life after his death. Why don't these phenomenal miracles happen anymore now that we have technology and could undeniably put the issue to rest? Is it because these people were fooled into believing something that was simply a magic trick? Chris Angel does amazing things that are unexplainable today, but we don't call him a prophet.

Some might say miracles DO happen today. They will point to medical miracles like people getting better from sickness. However I'm talking about the real undeniable miracles that happened in the bible such as what moses did. Some of them like turning water to wine have already been confirmed to be simple magic tricks.

Well, in foreign countries, especially in 3rd world countries, more miracles are reported than in countries where people
have hard hearts against such matters and don't expect them
at all. Where there is more openness to them, they happen,
and when they happen to someone privately in one of those stubborn modern societies, they are not talked about too openly and are greatly repressed. I have seen miracles
and they are repressed - excused away.
There was one town where Jesus did not do miracles because he knew how hard the people's hearts were.
Another thing is that the miracles in the Bible were actually
few and far between when you think about the time frames
between such miracles.
I will also point out that, yes, some miracles can be
done by magic tricks, but that does not mean that
the original one was merely a magic trick. An example
of this is when Moses' rod turned into a snake in front
of Pharaoh of Egypt and the magicians were able to
do the same thing. Yes, the magicians could have used
actual snakes to begin with and held them up by pinching
a certain nerve on them to make them semi-paralyzed, then let them go, but what Moses did was not a trick.

I will explain from Islamic point of view, The purpose of miracles was to give a physical evidence on prophets' messages.

Today there is no more prophets, thus no more miracles.

However, science had given us a clue that there is a super power exist, because it allowed us to see how amazing everything in the universe is co-ordinated. Something beyond human power.

If you believe that miracles does not exist, just look in the mirror. You are alive, maybe from 30, 40, or more years. And guess what your body functions are also working, although you didn't have to replace some spare parts or change oil or do any kind of maintenance ,compare this to whatever a human had invent and you will find this: You being alive is a miracle by itself.

Thanks

It was like one question posted on here a long time ago. This lady (the poster) had prayed and prayed that a doctor would diagnose her daughter's illness. She went to a doctor who found the problem. Lo and behold, God had performed a miracle! She wanted to know what everybody thought.

My reply, it sounded like the doctor figured out what was wrong with her daughter. Several people agreed with me. This is the modern definition of a Christian miracle.

People aren't near as gullible as they were years ago. At one time if the "father " mentioned some foolishness to be a miracle, the people would get down on their knees and make crosses , not any more.
Real miracles are in the minds of superstitious believers only.

one simple answer...

the media has cameras everywhere. a 'miracle' can be scrutinized in the blink of an eye and shown to either be accomplished by humanity or a random act of nature. in the past when the goat herders wrote the 'great big book of lies' a 'miracle' was something that happened miles away and the 'witnesses' could not be found. (except when the Council of Nicaea wrote them in 300+ years after the fact)...

simple, until the arrive of the promise messiah that kind of things happened to show the future purpose of God for earth that happened until Jesus showed up 2000 years ago, now we are waiting the stablished of God´s kingdom according to Daniel 2:44 and Matthew 6:4.

the miracles were a foretold (resurrection of deads, eliminating hunger , illness people cured, etc) of how will be the earth during Jesus´s rulership in the 1000 years ´s kingdom.

[[[Chris Angel does amazing things that are unexplainable today, but we don't call him a prophet.]]]

Well thats because he isn't one...

PROPHET:A person who speaks by divine inspiration or as the interpreter through whom the will of a god is expressed.
A person gifted with profound moral insight and exceptional powers of expression.
A predictor; a soothsayer.
The chief spokesperson of a movement or cause.

Is he saying anything, or just doing crazy things? I'm sorry if I'm wrong but I don't think that He is leading a specific movement or cause...??? Or is he????

Maybe miracles like this still happen, but you just don't hear about them.

Over 10 years ago, my wife died in a hospital. She quit breathing, and her heart stopped. The attending physician was writing down notes for the death certificate when after a couple minutes my wife sat up in bed, startling him. Her heart and breathing restarted on their own, and she began to respond to the antibiotics that they were dumping into her to combat the staph infection that was systemic. Her blood pH was below 7 for over 24 hours. They told me that people who survive just that end up being mental vegetables.

But you won't believe, even when someone like me declares it to you. You don't want to believe.

Because now you have Jesus and the written Word, and you don't need to see those types of miracles to believe that God is who He says He is.

I have had miracles in my life that I know without a doubt is neither luck, chance, or fate.

Right now we have prayed that my mother's high blood pressure be healed. Yes she has been on medication for years but to no avail. Each time she took her BP, it was in the range of 187, 198, 201, after I left this prayer at the altar. This week her numbers have been 136, 138, and around 2:00pm 116 for her top numbers. Praise the Lord!!!

If you go to church, you will hear the testimonies of many. Miracles do happen. You have to live a life of faith to see it happen.
