NASA doctors are constantly checking for this like that. They can tell you that you are going to have a cold a week before you feel it. Thats a reason there are so many astronauts waiting on the bench.

You have to count on the knowledge and skills of your fellow astronauts/cosmonauts to deal with it. There's no quick return so's you can climb in an ambulance.
